Awesome sculpts! Going to be super fun painting up a Jayth haris with Sargosh. Love all of the sculpts but ofcourse I would have preffered a Missile Launcher noctifer for some reason ; D
I'm not sure; for me it's on the same level of cool ;) New Noctifier is beyond awesome. Tensho - great model, but I hope that they'll get reworked a bit in N4. I can hear my wallet weeping, btw...
Interesting... Questions: what exactly are Tenshos and Noctifers? With TO Camo, Noctifers seem to be a cheaper version of Malignos. Not sure about the usefulness of Tenshos? Also: would a Chain Rifle Jayth be of interest, if I have already a Red Fury Jayth from Defiance lined up?
Noctifer carry much more effective weapons than a Malignos, the Spitfire is a fantastic aggressive piece and the missile launcher is probably the most feared ARO piece in existence. Dogged gives them a little extra staying power too. Tensho seems to mostly be a way to get a cheap specialist and BSG into a Nox link, will be interesting to see if he changes in N4. Jayth can be run in a Haris of 3 models, plus the new one is really awesome.
New noctifer is a BIG problem for me. Another huge peace of metal, and this time it would harder to remove part of terrain. Meh. Unit's designe is good, but that peace of rock... Anyway, that's only my problem. I just hate, when tacticle stones like 1/3 of miniature or more... (Feel mysel like usual complaining person from internet. Really sorry.. x) Tensho looks good, but a little strange name. Is it JSA?! Whoh! I am done with it. Sorry for that negative, but this two moments really makes me worry.
Many Shasvastii ombined army troopers are named by the human sphere troopers that first encounter them, like the Gwailo, Caliban, Aswang, so presumably the Tensho were first categorised by the JSA.
Matter of taste I suppose. I like the Definace ones (way) more. This one just seems to be screaming or something. But even Javier can miss my taste to some extent. In one out of maybe 20 models. The other two are great. Tensho in N3 was not only a good way to get a BSG in a Nox link, but also to have an rgenerating unjammable specialist (Veteran L1). In a Nox link it was an autoinclude for me. And no, IMO they don't need a rework. Reworks can go horribly wrong, see "Wildcats".
Noctifer doesn't have infiltration, so it fills a very different role than Malignos. General release Jayth may not be for you, but not every prospective CA/SEF player bought Defiance, so it's still important for them to fill out units and profiles in an accessible manner.
Oh, I see - they all have MSV 1 now. This looks like a unit designed to be wildcarded into other fireteams, which is a pretty big change from what they had before, and I can see what you're saying about it having some overlap with Grenzers. Edit: Getting off topic, I know, but I forgot Grenzers aren't in the same sectorial as Wildcats, so they only directly compete for the same slot in vanilla Nomads.
Yeah, I too prefer the Infinity minis (where cover, facing and other details are important) not to include terrain. The Haiduk mini includes a whole wall section, which I guess isn't something that dude carries with himself... That said, I can live with that. And it's not like a converted mini I made for Infinity (an S2 female Bounty Hunter) doesn't include a big wall piece... Oh, of course he's screaming. For tasty human flesh! :) Oh, of course! To be clear, it's not that I'm saying that they shouldn't be releasing this mini - they absolutely should. I'm simply wondering whether *I* should be getting it, if I have another Jayth already lined up.
If you've only got the one coming, it's worth considering if you want to play with their FT: Haris option (as someone already said). I got the collector's box, so I think I have multiple Jayths already en route - I'm personally putting off getting anything that's even remotely duplicating what's in Defiance until I have models in hand. Also I can't actually go out and game anywhere right now, so that's kind of slowing my purchases as well.
I converted both of the old Noctifers to not be on their staircases; I'll need to see what the actual parts breakdown looks like to know if it's going to be as feasible with this one as well. I mostly just think it's funny that they moved the stair forward into N4. The old Cateran sculpt used the same stair piece as the Noctifer; I'm now amusing myself looking forward to an eventual Caledonia relaunch and seeing if they share a piece again.
The main Haiduk thing for me is that the old one was crouched down behind a barricade; this one is standing up. It no longer resembles the silhouette change as well.
The nice thing with standing is that I could mount the mini on a 25mm base, and the wall on the 40mm base. Haven't painted it yet though.
When it comes to me, I've realized lately that I have some models I'm not going to use and that nobody seems to be interested in buying from me (*looks at his old drones boxes and shakes fist*). So, when it comes to this CA army, I've made a resolution not to buy stuff I'm not sure I'd need... So the wall would be for diorama purposes and the wall-less mini on the required base for game purposes?
