My thought too, making Sepulchre the heavy firepower Order (and removing a profile that doesn't have miniature) while Teuton become the sole punching Order with Magisters removal.
I am not entirely sure the magisters will get removed specially if the old MO starter is being kept, since that has magisters in it.
We don't know yet how long that starter is going to be available, though. It might not get phased out right now, only to get dropped next year. CB started to move away from the old style starter boxes, anyway.
I don't really understand making new Magister Knights like 2 years ago, when we already had models that were ok, and then scraping them completely from MO. Sounds silly. Anyway I really hope for a proper rework of the whole sectorial. No matter what they remove or add.
id like the S5 to atleast have an HMG. another spitfire and im tearing my hair out. maybe a visor or a reliable way to beat out of the deployment zone
It's really weird to have sepulchers move to S5 is a tad odd, specially since there is a few iconic pieces of art featuring sepulchets including that train hijacking scene vs morats.
S5 with good armour, BTS, and Holo, carrying heavy weapons would make for a very interesting option. Not if they make it a doctrine change, like that of the Montessa.
Remember they did the same for ASA: release a brand new starter to scrap it a year after. I would have expected old Teutons to be scraped, but well, let's see what's N4 full picture before speculating too far. ^^
On one hand I'd like to applaud CB being willing to axe *fairly recent* releases in the name of progress... ...on the other hand I didn't like the Montesa rework into a biker, the MO rework and half of the Sectorial balancing for the last 2-3 years. JSA, Druze, TJC, Morats, MO, IA and RTF are all a letdown despite getting attention. Most of the others turned out well, despite limited viable stuff or Merc Sectorials being better versions of Faction Sectorials taking away from that. The last category would be the *designed for N4* stuff which gets the benefit of a doubt until we have the whole picture. Bit of a double edged sword for sure.
There's a lot of weird issues that are going on with these sectorials because of the design philosophy being adhered to here and often times not in other places coupled with high cost troops. JSA has some very functional parts and some very lackluster areas. Its a narrowly focused sectorial that doesn't offer much leeway. Druze has a small lineup of choices of MI that are not cheap and suffers from a mostly mono build. Morats have a tax on their units due to Morat rule and very mono-role models with little surprise. Tunguska has the disadvantage of Vanilla Nomads existing coupled with an expensive baseline and a weird selection of troops that don't really mesh together all the time and some less than ideal links. MO is an absolute cluster of issues. IA has all HI which again high base cost and some natural disadvantages, but of the group its by far more functional than others. RTF has some excellent units but again like Tunguska has a high baseline and amazing vanilla where those units are just about as good. Rama also is a bit unfocused which makes it weird to build with. This is a very basic overview of the issues they have in common, but prices have a chance to be addressed right now which may help several of these sectorials see better play options. For more fundamental issues like CC viability or vulnerabilities that relies on core rules or design actually allowing it to function.
Honestly I don't even want MO to be 1st tier or anything. I just want it to be fun to play and more than that be able to use all kind of knights in fun combinations, not the pain that is now because of the lieutenant situation. MO is already a strongly themed sectorial, with a very clear kind of troops that should be always at the center of it (knights) and a high risk / high reward play style expected from them. Simply go in that direction and make knights the absolute protagonists here. And then you have Army app which is an incredibly powerful tool. Use it to adjust some point costs, attributes or whatever to adjust later if they end up being to powerful or weak.
Just wanted to say that magisters currently feel really fun with active dodge, da weapons and panzerfaust. The improved impetoius makes them easier to position prepush. The msr nerf makes the missing smoke less relevant thanks to the ph17 dodge... so yeay. Finally raging magister knights in a strong position to get included more often. Would say a near certainty for serg heavy high order lists or missions with objective destruction. Soooo... I really really hope they got cut because cb didnt sell the new box with them wierd off-scale boys. Was already sold out in some shops in germany yesterday when i bozght them for collection purposes. I own 15 of them for... reasons? ^^ so cb better not cut them out when i can finally field a fair chunk of them.
Oh and if they get resculpt sont youndare remove the shoulder panzerfaust. Such a cool and unique weapon setup
I'm hoping that that leaked Sanitago AD is both legitimate and has an advantage in MO, ie a second option or even exclusivity. That thing is a total boss. Otherwise, as long as they fix the LT issues I'll mostly be ok with it I think. Would be nice if the Hospitaller HMG stops being a mandatory inclusion. Spoiler profiles have shown steep price cuts on HI and especially melee orientated HI. As the above posts suggest, the active dodge is going to be amazing for high PH, reliable CQB units particularly the Magisters. Actually, lets go one better. I want Joan to be flexible in her links. Fucking so sick of vanilla PanO being the natural home for her. Dump that crusader link or whatever its called and at least let her "count as a Hospitaller" if we can't get wildcard. Just a couple of tweaks and MO will be a fantastic faction to play
Beta ARMY 7 supposedly accessed, screencaps are up someplace (I haven't seen them, just a few random ones). Either fake, or a prototype for the real thing with a bunch of bugs thats possibly useful to determine the direction or design of new units (some officially leaked units match)
Joan 1.0 45 points LT or not, with EXP CC weapon. TO sergeants now are a standalone Troop, lose combi for boarding shotgun or SMG, magĂsteres trade berserker for Marcial arts 2, hospitaliers get a forward deployment option, montesa red fury option And i think that is all i remember...
