Wait so I really am the only person who thinks there is too much overlap between all the knights aside from Montessa and Holy Sep.
Not at all, it's long been an issue. It sounds like we might be seeing a better distribution though. Hospitaller: "All-rounder" with HMG and Doc choices Santiago: Hacker/Specialist Wildcard, support Knight Teuton/Magister amalgam: Cheap facepunch option. Sepulchre: Big Boi solo Knight Montesa: Vroom Vroom Father Knight of Justice: Tough boi/girl Wildcard/premium facepunch option.
HAHAHA, bro you got me with that BIG BOI and Vroom Vroom. This is actually acceptable. And letting them mix fireteams will be good will help keep the need down for any more knights in the future. I know they aren't the same but how would say JSA compares to MO... I feel like Samurai are comparable in idea and Ninja comparable in cost but I ultimately feel like Knights win overall, especially in N4 from what I've seen.
What was the point of killing all the Father Knights, so they could release the Father Knight again except this time with a heavy pistol or something. Just change the fucking profile lol.
I’m still waiting to figure out what to repaint my Montessa on foot as.. Was going to be a Santiago or a Sepulchre, now I guess not because new shiny rumours. Maybe a De Fersen proxy...
They wanted to make a female model and didn't want to need a completely new "Mother Knights" regiment :P Also, if reinforces the fact that things have changed between N3 and N4, showing that the setting is evolving.
I dont like an s5 sepulcher , but maybe the rules will win me over. I wanted an excuse to buy a kielsan and maybe making a sepulcher conversion will be it. Also killing off father knights gave them MA2, which...is fantastic. As far as JSA vs MO wins in n4. JSA warband samurai benefit HUGELY from 6-2 move and active turn movement while dodging. They want to get into CC and they can approach that much faster now. Hell 6-2 shikami was a thing people asked for so long and if it gets any matter of point discount it will be a hell of a scary piece
None that I know of. Same for this, I don't think we have any confirmation Domaru or Tanko are getting 6-2.
I suspect that the majority will be 4-4, and the old "fast" HI - those which moved 4-4 back in N2 - will get 6-2.
Out of the PanO HI in Code One the ORC and Father Knight of Justice are 6-2, the Aquila, Swiss, and Big Böýğ are 4-4.
The The father knight wasnt what i would have considered fast HI that would move 6-2 so at minimum id suspect HI with melee focus might move to 6-2 I'd certainly hope at least domaru and teutons do. The shikami would definitely welcome that change
So on the bit of funny side: new Magister (even with their problems and dumbtubes) are getting axed old and ugly Teutons models stays Like really ?
So, a box of three new Teutons + KoJ ML (ffs, I really dislike the mixed boxes and wasn't happy when Bostria said more are coming) isn't out of the possibility...
wouldnt it be more likely to expect some number of teutons and the new s5 Sepulcher , since we are hearing about it
"Hey lets axe the most distinct Knight troop in MO to give the worst Knight troop some designspace" "Hey lets make the one distinct guy into S5" "Hey lets fix the Fatherknight already and make Mommyknight sculpts possible while we're at it" "Hey you know what the Montesa needs a Bike" There isn't much that could make MO any worse than they're now, but those are some odd choices. The Magister Link has carried MO through N3 in every version for several reasons. While thorroughly minmaxed in a vaccum, they were exactly what is needed to make a useable HI Link with the ability to walk across the table turn 1. The Magister+Hospitaler Link wasn't broken, it just was what necessary to compensate for lack of mods and kinda the only thing that worked. There are Core Linked Mimetic AP HMGs in Line Trooper Links, the Hospitaler was only ever a problem with MO's internal balance. But rather than fixing the problem that no other Knight could do shit from the DZ, they shifted Magisters to Teutons, made Santiagos Wildcards, ruined the usability of Hospitalers and left the core problem unaddressed. Well actually they slapped a HMG on the Seraph and fumbled the Tik into a Sectorial terribly suited for TAG support, erm well... With cheaper HI across the board they should finally have some competition. This has some potential. The Montesa Bike not having a Spitfire (or HMG) made him niche on arrival in a Sectorial where TOFOOS exist if you want to push a button. The one place where a Spitfire (which he had before) would have been pretty nice to retain was where they stripped it. Aside from that he is the only guy who can do CC missions in SAA (those are their own problem...). Where the KotHS is concerned, making the most expensive guy into CoC imho shows a lack of understanding on how the game works. Rather than S5, I would have prefered Holo Forward Deployment (+8), Hidden Deployment and a buff to his BTS so he can emulate a similar role than what you bring a HMG for with a Spitfire.
To be honest, i never played linked or solo magisters. Always went for a OS fireteam for button mission and Joan pain train for firepower
