According the the HI we saw in the "how to play" batrep last week, points haven't budged an inch. Worrying tidings...
Hey, I played this today. Not saying this is representative of having a good list or anything, but it was fun enough to play and I won against Ariadna TAC in Adquisition. Spoiler: List Adquisition ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 8 2 JOAN OF ARC Lieutenant Spitfire, Nanopulser / Pistol, AP CCW. (1 | 51) TECH-BEE (Remote Assistant Level 1, Specialist Operative) Flash Pulse / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 5) WARCOR (360º Visor) Flash Pulse / Stun Pistol, Knife. (0 | 3) FATHER-KNIGHT Missile Launcher / Breaker Pistol, DA CCW. (1.5 | 49) ORDER SERGEANT MULTI Sniper Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (1.5 | 21) ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) ORDER SERGEANT Combi Rifle / Pistol, Knife. (0 | 13) KNIGHT OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE (Chain of Command) Breaker Combi Rifle / Pistol, DA CCW. (0 | 52) SERAPH HMG, 2 Nanopulsers / EXP CCW. (2 | 79) CRABBOT Flash Pulse / Knife. (0) 6 SWC | 299 Points Open in Infinity Army 1. Father Knight was simply in ARO duty. The rest of the plan was really simple. Seraph cleared the Frontovik sniper with his "TAG order" and Joan started running using Lt order from the beggining and clearing some camos and some middlefield guy. Not a lot of damage so she just came back behind cover and used suppressive fire. Ariadna spent the whole turn getting a dog warrior to the core. One order sergeant died and FK got 1 wound but the dog warrior died. A Spetsnaz burnt the remaining orders trying to shoot Joan and she got 1 wound. 2. With only one loss I had 9 regular orders, 1 irregular for Seraph, 1 Lt Order and 1 irregular for Joan = 12 useful orders, not bad. That's when I went all out, used the Seraph to kill the Spetsnaz quickly using super jump to get him without cover. Then Joan run, killed some guys and finally got to their deployment killing Voronin. Left Joan there and positioned Seraph and Sepulchre all of them in suppressive fire. Then a scary moment, A camo moved and I made the mistake of declaring discover with Joan. It was Vassily so he toasted her with T2. He also tried to kill the Seraph but with SF and ARM 10 it resisted enough to get total cover. 3. Seraph killed the Frontovik this time and also Vassily. Sepulchre was Chain of Command and Datatracker so I just used Lt order and the rest of the orders to get him to the tech coffin and put the Seraph on a rooftop with suppressive fire, protecting the knight. Ariadna at this point was in Loss of Lieutenant and Retreat and so I got the victory. So, we don't have NCO or a lot of Tactical Awareness. But playing like this I used 12 orders in first turn (10 regular + 1 Lt + 1 Tactical Awareness from Seraph). Second turn I potentially had 13 orders if you count Joan's Frenzy, but becasue 1 order Sergeant died I was down to 12 again. I just think it's pretty game changing if you are able to squeeze more orders and use them in highly efficiente troops (Joan and Seraph), basically troops that can run fast, shoot hard and cut corners with super jump. Of course a lot of things could go wrong with these two. A hacker, a jammer, a lucky E/M and that's it. Also we played using the new N4 style critical hits, and that was great for the Seraph with ARM 10 behind cover.
So new Magister box is being discontinued .... ..... it's "only box" but well for sure it cannot be counted as a good sign...
The new video CB just posted on youtube today. I have a feeling the new magister box was disconnected because THEY SUCKED and the box didn't sell. Bring back the old magister design, those were FAR cooler.
I definitely believe they werent selling well. They were far less dynamic than old ones, and lacked tabbards instead packing miniskirts
Well, I bought two of those boxes to have my six Magisters without LM and sculpted the old shoulder Panzerfausts on the four (two by two) without the new Ariadna panzerfaust... I really hope Magisters stay in MO.
The attack on the Teutonic base in 3rd Offensive seems like a good excuse to merge/revamp Teutons and Magisters like the "Father Knights of Justice" too.
Forgive, I really am out of it all, over 2 years since I got rid of my models so my knowledge is spotty. I did notice Father Knights and Knights of Justice were insanely similar and was wondering what the point of that was. Teutons and Magisters are similar enough I guess. I wouldn't be surprised if what we see from them is a cheaper version like what we saw with the Tanko.
that's a bit sad, with all incoming HI buffs, and shotgun reworks was hoping that magisters would see some playtime in my games.
xD Well technicly we don't know yet if they will be removed or just the box is gone (but why them and not Teutons? - Ok, I know why.)
Father Knights were decimated during an ill advised attack on an Umbra stronghold in the time skip between N3 and N4. They were then reorganised and retrained (with the help of Shona Carano) into the Knights of Justice.
asking the question in a deliberatly tounge-in-cheek manner had WGC infinity frothing at the mouth at me in rage. Make of that what you will about CB apologism (when they don't even know what move to defend xD) , but it strikes me as an odd move that they could have explained but didn't.
They usually don't explain their moves. And if they do, it's much later. Magisters are probably getting reworked into something else, and new models were pretty poor, anyway.
Interesting tidbit from the latest Mayacast. Knights of the Holy Sepulchre seem to get a rework and will grow to S5. Might be interesting.
