I would like to use the Ignore function to avoid seeing a particularly negative user's posts. Unfortunately they have set their profile to be impossible to see when you click on them. This makes the Ignore function difficult to access. Does anyone have a work-around or another suggestion for getting Ignore on for that use, please? Thanks in advance! I love this game, and these forums are great. I look forward to being unable to read this person's posts.
What OS/browser? No popup if you click the nick on the left of each post? It should have a ignore link.
I didn't even know it was possible to hide your profile. But try going to: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/members/savnock.636/ignore Replacing 'savnock.636' with their user name and number, which you should be able to see if you hover over the username.
Alternatively, there's a People You Ignore link if you hover over your member name. You can simply type the username to add someone.
Thanks folks! All very helpful, and it's nice to have a few workarounds. @Mob of Blondes , Firefox on MacOS 10.13. No pop-up, but i have a bunch of privacy extensions which maybe kill that.
Ah, and a few taps later and I know Savnock has decided not to ignore me. Thank you, sir. I promise you won't regret it. On Android, tap the user's name and the profile summary box appears. There is an option to ignore in that box. You could set ignore user that way. Baffled about the why of hiding one's user profile.Just don't put information in it that you don't want people to see. A most singular decision.
Ah, but you make it more difficult for them to ingore you. I guess that for some folks this might be a reason good enough...
Speaking for myself, yes. That's exactly why I turned it on. Within minutes of posting in threads(no matter what I might post, positive or negative), there's a series of specific individuals who would show up to shitpost.
But what will you do to hide yourself from the New Posts link? "Ignored Member" shows up in the activity pane. And there's always the ability to follow a member, so you receive notifications of their activity. Apart from that, maybe one posts in threads of interest to others & that's why one's posts are responded to.
