I was half expecting the Stavka's Intelligence Services as the new Ariadna sectorial and for it to pull from the already existing armies since it made sense lore-wise and would be a way to keep SKUs down. This is much better since the new units will have a more distinct identity (going to bump this while playing) but I still hope they pull units like you're describing and I imagined for Stavka. Especially if some oldies get new sculpts out of the deal. At the same time, a lot of the existing Ariadna units seem like they would clash with the cosmonaut aesthetic, so I wouldn't be surprised if there is little crossover. I almost forgot Project Buran got the canon nod in 3rd Offensive. Tots going to paint these guys in white, black, and yellow.
Wellp ... I didn't expect that This is clearly a consequence of the Buran initiative at Wotan. When I started the initiative and made the art I was not expecting the idea to become a fully fledged sectorial I believe ariadna was perfectly fine with the already existing sectorials, and it was time to focus on fixing the old ones. In the end I have very mixed feelings about the addition of so many new sectorials, I think it's detrimental for the game. And the new sectorials don't feel as special or unique as the first ones. Oh well, now it's already done so here are my hopes: I don't want them to look like a random mix of units like NA2, resculpts with space theme are a better option, like for example space veteran kazaks, or space ratnik. I hope many miniatures have super crazy poses floating around like the O12 paratroopers using floating debris to support the miniature floating around I hope they go CRAZY with the designs, I don't want to see another copy paste part like the ariadna standard trousers, arm shields or backpacks we have seen a million times already. Go crazy with the astronaut vibe, clumsy 0G monster HI, 0g vehicle or tractor mul, 0G synchronized low tech remotes, Infantry with giant propulsion backpacks with guns strapped to them or even astronaut style robotic arms, troops specialized to blow up spaceship doors with d-charges. It's literally a blank canvas anything can work but please don't be boring. I'm going to need a very good excuse to justify a semi smart bear in a space spec ops team armed with a hammer, antipodes and warewolfs where already a long stretch but this goes beyond that. I'm a bit disappointed with the logo: Questions: Is this thing going to be high tech enough to have forbidden tools in the ariadna arsenal like MSV 2 or ODD, 0G TAG, hackers? Should they? Are females going to wear space high heels? I hope not Super jump or extra movement everywhere? Broken solar panels with glass shards exploding as tactical rocks? Yes please.
The shoulder plates are the gray rifle / veteran k ones. The arm protection of the bear is from veteran K too, and the front plate is the ratnik one.
I remember folks semi-seriously saying that if they couldn't have a full TAG then they wanted a dog warrior in a Ratnik or a Blackjack. I guess this is CB's beary sincere answer. I guess Russian bear training technology really advanced during the time skip. Or the Nomads are just letting literally anything get uplifted nowadays.
True, but I don't think any of the existing sectorials have been shown to operate in free-floating environments (as opposed to just vacuum or on space boarding actions) before.
I think it's Ariadna with less camo and more high technology equipments. Maybe there are many airbornes.
Seems like it is either an Ariadnan "Tartarian Bear" or the retrovirus hybrid version called a Drekavac. The drekavac can transform into a larger version like a dog soldier but in the RPG it wasn't described as sentient. So there is def something funky going on.
