I don't think so. However, knowing the roots of Infinity in a Cyberpunk 2020 campaign played by the CB staff years ago, I have a wild guess they might be based upo an exotic weapon from that game: Malorian Arms Sliver Gun. This weapon used electric motor to spin a flywheel to riciculous speeds, then press it against a ceramic block serving as "ammuniton storage" - which resulted in razor-sharp slivers being shaven off the block and propelled out of the barrel.

Realsitically-speaking, such a weapon wouldn't, I guess, be terribly accurate or long-ranged. But then, Chain Colts and Chain Rifles of Infinity aren't either...

    Still, that's just my musing...

The chain rifle was developed from a specific model of handheld vacuum cleaner after it was discovered that it's innovative mechanism to eject jammed debris could be made rather more powerful than the manufacturer intended. The name comes from the fact that lengths of metal chain were the preferred material to intentionally jam into the device as they were cheap, handy, and it transformed them into a nice spray of rather deadly shrapnel.

Modern military versions dispense with all the cleaning bits, and the dust chamber is replaced with a spool of chain to allow multiple shots without reloading.

The vacuum cleaner's "blow" setting was so powerful people started using it as a weapon.

I didn't make this up, this is the official origin of the chain rifle as told by Corvus Belli.

So basically Chain Rifles are like Fallout Rock-It Launchers - a reverse souped-up vacuum cleaner, but instead of wads of useless US Dollars it shoots broken-up metal chains.

After seeing/looking at the new Grief Operator miniature his head is similar to a head in the Genestealer Neophyte Hybrid box.

Bought two boxes of the new Dronbots and they have the same shitty design as the old ones. If I'd known I wouldn't have wasted my money and time endlessly filing so they fit together like the promo photos.

Wow that is a bummer to hear. They looked different in the pictures. So it is just the same body as before but with different weapon sculpts then?

They're clearly new sculpts, either hes talking about the assembly process or he got old models.

They're all new parts but all the same problems remain. The stack up of the three parts leaves gaps. The antenna on the back don't fit properly even with a bunch of filing. With all these new "advancements" in castings I'd hope that we wouldn't see all the same old problems but here we are.

@gregmurdock I see. That is a shame. While it doesn't bother me personally it's still sad to hear that some people will have problems in assembly. Guess all that work put into a new sculpt didn't pan out.

Something different: I got my Taowu on friday and build him already, but he has no base in his blister. Thankfully I had a spare one for Infinity (it will work for Aristeia also). Anyone encountered the same problem?

A side note for the new Remotes: The Flashpulse-REMs are listed as "Para CCW" on the weapon list on the back of the box. Also I miss the shematic pic of the loadouts, that were printed on the side of the old boxes. I mean, the boxes are aimed at an audience, that is totaly new to Infinity, it will not make it easier to them to figure out what is what.

I really miss the tokens printed on the box. It wasn't much, and many people probably would never use it, but it was a nice little touch. And a way to get some free tokens if needed.

But the purchased tokens are vastly superior to flat tokens of any sort. A few attempts trying to pick up an older camo token.... it drives you mad.

You just glued them on flat 1mm tall bases to turn them into coins.
