I've been browsing through this forum and am really blown away by the stuff people are showing off here. Amazing paint work, thanks for sharing to you all! I'm quite happy with my own minis - the Infinity models have motivated me to up my work a notch or two - but I'm humbled by what I see here. Still, there's nothing like sharing your own minis when you like how they turned out, and feedback can only improve things. :) So, feel free to comment! I've completed the Red Veil box (my first Infinity purchase) and am now working on the minis from Coldfront. So far I've kept to the "official" color schemes. Yu Jing I really like the orange/teal color scheme, it really pops. Haqqislam My faction of choice. Aleph Really love the Dakini minis. The white is challenging, but it's turning out quite nicely.
Your minis look really good. The only comment I could offer is, it seems like your paint is too think sometimes. That's something I'd like to see you work on. You paint eyes quite well, that is something I am still struggling with. The effect on the tiger soldier's jump pack is very cool. If I could pick my favourite minis from what you have shown, it would be your Hsien and Zu Yong. I think these look the most smooth and consistent. Well done, I hope to see more as I am always learning from other painters like you!
Thank you! You're right, paint consistency is something I struggle with. Sometimes I'm too lazy to properly thin down the paints, sometimes when I try I get them too watery, just pushing some pigments around in a pool of water. I have to practice this some more.
They look good. Your bases are great. Regarding paint consistency, I feel you. Some paints are borderline unusable.
Two more Aleph done: Shukra Consultant and Yadu Trooper. I worked a bit on the eyes of the Shukra after taking that pic, they looked much better to my old and failing eyes. :P
The Naga and the Deva are done and this completes my Aleph figures from the Coldfront Box. Next up: Probably their Ariadna counterparts.
Yeah, it is finicky. Pictures seem to show up for some people, but not others. I've changed them all over to FB. Is it better now?
Both Google and Facebook are about the absolutely lousiest image hostings out there, both want you to remain in their walled garden, not to use their resources out of there. I suggest an actual image hosting site. I for one use Imgur for now, but that will likely change.
I know it's not perfect, but I'm not keen on Imgur and yet another service. Are the images still not visible?
If you want to be sure that everyone has access to a pic you link, just open it in a private mode browser so you'll be sure it doesn't use your cached credential to access it.
