Anyone want to have a guess at what it could be? I am going with bounty hunter with smg! Or perhaps Brawler spec op? As it always seems to be a Merc!
There was a rumor that it'd be Shona Carano, with a few reasons. 1) She's explicitly mentioned in the recent KoJ fluff as running their training program. 2) She can work for both N4 and Aristeia! 3) There was an "April Fools" SWF list that included her. I don't think we've had official confirmation from Carlos Belli on this yet though.
Alternatively we could see a merc as the N4 exclusive, and Shona as the Gen Can't/InterplanetariNo exclusive mini. If we do get a merc I really want to see the Crabat mercenaries with their trench hammers and assault pistols.

The name of this weapon is a direct translation of the original Croatian "Čekićem Rova". Crabat mercenaries developed improvised versions of this weapon when they found that, for the intense fighting in the tunnels, they needed a powerful but manageable melee weapon for close quarter battle. Such weapon must allow them to hold an Assault Pistol with the other hand and could to be thrown with definitely lethal results for the target.

But what armies could field her? If she's KoJ-affiliated, then it'd mean vanilla PanO, Svlarheima, Military Orders, and maybe - maybe! - some random other PanO army, plus perhaps Foreign Company. Meaning all the other armies' players would have absolutely no use for her. Dunno about you, but for me, that'd kill any interest in preordering the book to get that model: I don't play PanO in any form, nor FC, I'd have no use for her.
As I said in the very next post, she could also be the Gen Can't/InterplanetariNo exclusive that comes at the same time. Or she's gone full merc after training the KoJ and is available to all Vanilla armies like Wild Bill.
I hope it's not another aristeia character. i also hope its not a merc. im tired of both. but tbh that doesnt leave many options.
Frankly as long as it's not a new Merc I'm happy. Could always use more sculpts for Krakots, Bounty Hunters and CSUs, maybe a refurbished Ashcroft or Sforza, but the Merc profile bloat is starting to get ridiculous to the point I hope stuff like Monstruckers and Cube Jagers get cut from N4.
Not all of the preorder models have been very universally usable. I think the generically-available mercs roster is getting too long, and hope they make an alternate sculpt for an existing unit (like the armored ABH from N3, or Gogo Marlene as a Warcor from Campaign: Paradiso).
I'm also sick of named characters in general. There's so much overlap with them at this point it feels so useless to add another in the mix. Just make it a cool sculpt of a new launch sectorial or something like that.
Well, it would be difficult to satisfy all of us with the same pre-order mini, I guess. I'm still pretty curious what the CB are going to pull there. But at the same time, I somehow doubt they'll make it something I'd consider worth preordering for. Alas, they can yet surprise me! :P
Y'know, if they hit the Gen Con release date it'll have been exactly a year since the most recent Joan of Arc...
My guess: ABH SMG/AC - makes a lot of sense, can be used in vanilla Miss Shona Carano could be "GenCon" LE or the next ITS mini.
Was Black Friday Joan an old sculpt? More on topic, as long as it's a cool sculpt I'm not worried about it. I want the books either way, so it's all good. I do wonder how they don't have a CSU box though, unit's everywhere with like, 1 figure currently?
there have been brawler spec ops before, I wouldn't expect another one. A new Jeanne might be an option, it has been a lot of time since the last one and other troopers are getting near her, CB cannot allow that! (yes, I am jocking. Please CB, in n4 give the same attention to other factions too) In my opinion, for N4 it should be a merc, a warcor or a NPC/civilian, so anybody could use them.
