I'm getting back on the painting train, my goal is to have all of my USAriadna finished by the end of the season. To get things started in the right direction I painted the man himself, Van Zant! Next up I've got a big pile of Grunts to finish, as well as a couple Marauder snipers.

NICE! I'm looking forward to see what you do with this. Also, how do the old Druze fit in with the new druze models? I have an opportunity to buy a box, but I'm not sure if it's worth it. What do you think?
Thank you! The old Druze look fine really, a little short but not that bad, and well worth it to get a couple combis, the haris and the LGL without having to chop up a bunch of other models.
Tried my hand at liquid masking, not sure I've quite got the hang of it, but it definitely reduced the amount of work I've got to do for my Avatar! It did pull up the ink in some places, but nothing that I can't touch up easily.
Why not double down on new techniques. This is the first time I’ve airbrushed a glow effect, pretty happy with it.
Oh snap! Looks great dude. When you take a photo of it, put it against a solid background and turn the exposure down a bit, and it'll really pop (I really don't know anything else about photography... seriously... that's really about it).
Thanks! I actually have a full lighting kit and all that fun photography stuff but I’m usually too lazy to bust it out for WIP shots, haha. I’ll be sure to get some nice pictures of my finished work soon. In the meantime here is the (almost) finished piece!
Bit of progress on some more Combined for Adepticon, also having fun playing with alien skin tones. Wanted something more ruddy for the Morats, less cartoony than bright red.
Okay, now it’s really done, I’m putting the plasticard down... added shell casings, more details on the ammo feed and box, a square barrel on the chain-colt, a support brace, and some other little details.
I tried to find a gif or a meme to express how awesome that is, but instead I'm probably going to have to save this as a reference for something to be almost as awesome as it later....
My god man, that nexus is going to look amazing. The contrast between skin and purple already look glorious! And the anaconda, you really figured out a nice way to balance the pose, the gun looks great! Since purple is such a fickle color I truly appreciate that your chose the right(at least when it comes to color theory) complimentary color (yellow). If I would give any advice (which I shouldn’t) to improve, I would recommend to check out and consider some more complimentary colors. Peach/skin works amazing(as seen on the nexus) but also teal. Good damn work!
