It seems to divide again for every new unit you look at so once you get down to Liang Kai it's a very small value :)
It halves the final value of Dodge movement. If anything this is clearer with a pre-computed Dodge movement than with a +X" system. If remove the issue of whether Dodging while Prone is 2/2+X or (2+X)/2. Edit: or just add it as an example to the grey box on Page 60.
Thanks, good point! In that case, I’d vastly prefer the pre-computed value Dodge (3”) or Dodge (4”). Less computation is always better.
Honestly I'd prefer a change. "Skill" (+/- X) for a bonus to the roll with an algebraic operator (as is) "Skill" (X") for a changed, final distance value, rather than a MOD. The current Dodge (+X") for a MOD to the distance is a bit iffy with how it displays Dodge vs Forward Deployment. Unfortunately the existing wording for those rules would require a change.
I think dodge + distance should probably have it's own name to make it easily searchable. This might be less of an issue once the army links are clickable.
@ijw The wording for prone "have both their MOV values and movement bonuses halved when declaring any Skill with Movement label (Move, Dodge…). But Dodge never references the MOV values. So if you have a standard trooper who is prone for the Dodge movement, do they move 2" or 1"?
