So they moved the other thread to the code one forum. So thought we should have a proper thread here for speculation and discussion on the upcoming units. My biggest question is when are we gonna see their proper profiles? And or see them in the main army builder.
When N4 drops, and when the main army builder is updated for N4? They might teas one of them beforehand for promo, but that wouldn't be more than a month before release of N4, probably.
We know the releases up until July don't have Crushers, Psi-COps, or Casanova in them, and August will be N4. So I think expecting rules for the new units to come with N4 makes a lot of sense.
Funnily enough in the July releases thread! https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/do-july-to-me-or-is-it-june.37130/ O-12 Support Pack Foreign Company 300Pt Pack Yaokong Remotes Pack Dronbot Remotes Pack Combined Army Support Pack Tao Wu Mastermind (Aristeia! skin)
I'm really excited for the Psi-Cops, love their profile and want to see how it will be expanded in N4
The Psi Cops are really good if code one is anything to go by. The marksman rifle is really nice and synergizes well with the double nanopulsers. I hope the marksman rifle becomes multi marksman rifle in N 4 because we definitely have the tech for that and I hope that they gain sensor or FO in N 4 because they are the intelligence gatherers for section Spatha. I have not made my mind up about the Crushers yet it feels like they are missing a skill or equipment.
it wouldn't surprise me if the Crushers fill the linkable MI slot that's currently empty in O12 (at least the non AD ones anyway when sectorials finally drop), and are just missing half of their rules like C1 vargar and their N3 version. Though if this were the case theyd be a far more annoying version of marauders.
I would not be surprised to see Psi-Cops pick up Holoprojector (1 or 2) when N4 rolls around. I’m gambling on what Crushers are missing- definitely D-charges, and hopefully some compelling weapon loadouts because they are pretty sad right now. I’m hoping against hope for some template weaponry to be truly honest. There are 2 MLs in the faction on the Kappa and the smart missile bot, and no HRLs or GLs or anything with an impact template. It’s probably meant to be faction identity but it’s still sad.
There's no fire in the entire faction (outside of kendrat), so I doubt we will ever see any. As for GL's picking one up on the crusher would be great.
O-12 ────────────────────────────────────────────────── 2 LYNX (Specialist Operative) Plasma Carbine, D-Charges / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 30) LYNX (Specialist Operative) Plasma Carbine, D-Charges / Assault Pistol, Knife. (0 | 30) 0 SWC | 60 Points Open in Infinity Army Hello there! AVA 2.
Plasma is one of those weapon types that I would personally hold judgement on until we see the final format of N4. There are some indications that impact teardrops are going away, after all.
I think plasma never should have had templates in the first place. Having the ARM+BTS save was pretty unique already. And it made it really hard to justify handing them out when they also got cover ignoring templates as well. Losing the templates should give them a price cut and might also allow for a plasma thrower/shotgun. I think we might see regular and combi plasma weapons. I would bump the carbine up to B3 and the Rifle have DAM14, the they would be slightly different from each other but still have a trade off for stronger range bands or harder hitting.
I do think we are looking at likely two different probable implementations for the Carbine: 1. Plasma "Shotgun". B2, DAM 14, plasma ammo, and alternate direct template mode 2. Plasma "Combi" or even "SMG". B3, DAM 13, plasma ammo, and the Plasma Rifle might become something akin to a Plasma "Mk12". Whether they go down in price would ultimately depend on two things; 1. What Plasma actually is in N4. C1 has reduced multi-damage ammo weapons other than Feuerbach down to B1. 2. What happens to exotic ammo versions of weapons in N4. Arguably, guns like Multi Rifles are a bit expensive compared to Combis and right now Plasma Carbine is both cheaper and better than a Multi Rifle. Either way; exciting times ahead. Especially since CB also have shown a propensity to turn things completely on its head when they think it's needed and do fully unexpected things.
To my eyes, Crushers fit the template of the high end MI squad where everyone is a specialist of one kind or another (engineer, paramedic, FO), everyone has d-charges, everyone has multiple weapon options, and everyone costs just a tiny bit too much. Also, if they retain Forward Deployment L2, i don't think they'd be linkable except possibly as a duo, unless there's an FTO option who can go in a mixed link, or they go down the Scots/Kurgats route of there being two distinct flavours.
The Usariadnan Marauders are FDL2 and fully linkable. Would love to see these guys with it. Though these guys wont likely be abke to take a hit as good, but will be just as armed to the teeth
Because is linkable on Sectorial No on Vanilla... 012 is just a vanilla army... when 012 sectorials come... just can see...
I wasnt referring to them being linkable in vanilla. I was giving the marauders as an example of a forward deployment L2 unit that is linkable.
