I wonder if the good old Dr. Worm will get a resculpt? I just managed to get him painted. The Dronbots are too new.
It almost has to be the SOF box plus some others, right? I wonder how they picked the Foreign Company to do a 300pt pack with when the units are already sort of done. I mean, even StarCo, the units are sort of spread among a few different packs, so a 300pt pack might include useful stuff, though maybe it's because they got the Defiance Reinforcement Pack. White Company could also be cool since it's so unknown at this point.
I mean, we know they're discontinuing Neoterra. We also know that they can produce the Bolts from the NCA starter by themselves--because they did when the box initially dropped. I wouldn't be shocked to see those make an appearance, since it's 3x CR+LSG Bolts.
I haven't really paid attention to the 300-pt boxes after my initial Onyx purchase, but I thought they were just a repackaging of several boxes/blisters into a more affordable (overall) box? Did that change?
The big one is that they will not include faction starter sets into them. Again, my wild speculation has to deal with the fact that we know the Bolts from the NCA starter were able to be cast separately. They did so for the initial release, but then kept them locked away with 3x old sculpts(Aquila Multi Rifle, Swiss ML, and Hexa Spitfire) that they had already discontinued as SKUs.
Spiral Corps isn't a bundle of old stuff, nor is new JSA, is it? I tossed the SOF into an Army and they're like 150 points already, so it'd probably be easy to throw together a bundle with SOF plus some units, but not sure that's what's going on. Even if they're resculpting the SoF, can't see current players going that way. It could be a mix of units that totals 300, but isn't the entire point of Foreign Company to use the SoF? :-p
Spiral Corps and JSA weren't 300 point packs. They were army packs, like the USARF box. They're weird about the 300 point packs since the Onyx and Tohaa ones came out. They don't want starter sets in there, and they try to minimize the discounts as much as possible.
The Military Order 300 pts don't include any loadout of the really old MO starter pack. And I don't think they did a new MO starter, so the MO 300 has bundled other non-starter stuff. They advertised it (on their blog) as 20% lower than buying miniature separately.
Not the entire point I hope. As you said that core is already 150pts. It can't be that the main point of playing FC 300 is to play SoF + 150Pt of filler. Every faction and sectorials has several thing going for it, from a 150 Pts HI core to using something else. But then, FC is only a minor sectorial of NAA.
Onyx Contact force was a repackaging. The Tohaa 300 point army box was a repack. I don't remember if they created anything new for the USAriadna or Military Order boxes. Over the course of time, those 300 point army boxes have been getting better, and adding special items. I mean, I'm pretty sure the Onyx Contact Force didn't come with a booklet or terrain.
USARF wasn't a 300 point army pack. USARF, JSA, and Spiral Corps have just flatout been "army packs". All of them have weighed in at around 150-250ish points. JSA and Spiral were both heftier(JSA clocks in around 233 and I don't have Spiral Corps off the top of my head--I want to say USARF sat at 172 if you took one of the 2x LFT Minuteman profiles vs another while the other sat you at like 158 or something) than USARF was, but all of them were brand new items released in a bundle. The 300 point boxes have been Onyx, Steel Phalanx, Tohaa, Military Orders, and Corregidor. I might be forgetting one but that's all I can recall at the moment.
Okay, fair point, I’m getting the 300 point army boxes conflated with the army packs. It is a speculation thread, so I guess it’s expected we’re going to extrapolate from three? data points.
Just trying to make it clear, because CB sure didn't early on. The 300 point tag was more confusing than anything else since it implied the others were too but just unmarked. :P
