C1? Not much. Infiltration + BS12 vs FD 8" + BS13. N4? Wildparrot or not Wildparrot is an argument. The Locust looks like he'll benefit a lot from CC tax going down. Always liked the BSG+Grenade-Drop Bears (who look like they can now coordinate with Mines) Profiles, getting cheaper and a few buddies in proximity is all it ever needed. Nokken is the better Specialist in N3. N4 shapes up to make Hacking universally relevant with Spotlight inflicting persistent Targeted, available as ARO and boosting BS-, Com-, and Hacking Attacks (on top of a Reset -3 MOD). Still expect one or both to get Hidden Deployment, Limited Camo or a new Skill tacked on. Some option that wasn't possible in N3 with the ability either related to a Camo level/unavailable for ODDs. Assuming the Locust can be hidden with HD or Marker State somehow, the AHD could be about as annoying as a Jammer to run into. Wishful thinking would be Limited Camo, Mimetism -6 for one (Nokken) and Hidden Deployment Mimetism -6 for the other (Locust). Not sure that is going to happen, still willing to bet money something along these combinations will be available at least one of them (my money is on the Locust before the Nokken).
I'll only play Nokken with Spit or MSV1 BSG (but only one of the two at same time), for the rest I'm Locust all the way - way better for same price.
The spitfire Nokk is cheaper than the marksman rifle Locust, but costs 1.5 SWC. So there is a place for the Locust. The hackers have the same cost and the question becomes, so you prefer the light shotgun or AP ammo? Both have merits depending on what else you have in your army. As near as I can tell, without grenades, the boarding shotgun Locust is a waste of space.
@Teslarod Yeah, I prefixed it CodeOne, other cases there are minor differences. In CodeOne there is a limited set of units, and having 2 almost identical gives me pause.
Because you can play 4 midfield odd specialists for domination and put the rest of the points into punching the enemy in his zones ^^. Also no dz pano is a thing in c1 if you take all the fwdep and infil troops ^^
Hm wonder if that's a bug from reintroducing NCA. Initially assumed NCA just doesn't have it, but it's gone from Sval too.
I just checked recently & the Locust with Wild Parrot option is still usable in Army Builder. I'm looking at the normal game rosters where this is the case. One would think the Code One PanO roster would have this option as well.
