Hello here :) I remember having talked about painting schemes for my QK here and promised to share photos when it would be done, but i'm too lazy to find the topic (that was several months ago) so i'll use this one instead :) The inspiration was "janissaries in their historical/parade attire". Red, gold and green for very visible / obvious miniatures. The fluffy idea was that these troops are more on guard/bodyguard duty and are meant to show that they are here and that no one should try to act funny. So now that it has been done (disclaimer: not by me :p well the link i give is the painter's site anyway), here are some photos (not only QK) http://www.atelier-alegolas91.fr/2019/09/figurines-aleph-et-haqqislam-pour-le-jeu-infinity.html I must say that Azra'il with those colours wouldn't feel strange in a W40K battleground :)
I decided to go for the brighter colour scheme after doing some repaints, and I think they work a bit better - really like how my Fiday came out in particular. She'll get her first game tomorrow night, wish her luck!
Maybe this thread could use a boost with a new idea. What about base themes? Any ideas or examples that you Haqqislamites have done for your armies? I've found this new Rolling Pin from Green Stuff World. Seems like a good theme for any Haqq force. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Rolling-Pin-ARABIC-polymer-clay-paisley-GSW/273992070806
Heh, I have a bunch of Bahram troops that I plan to sell, and I though about practicing on them. I was thinking about black uniforms, tan/desert combat vests and webbings, green details and symbols... and suddenly I realized that it might look good visually, but could be otherwise unsettling...
Very nice, I like that one a lot. What are your main colors for the red and gray? I ended up with a sort of hybrid of the normal color scheme with that one, with bone and red with green lights. Not 100% sold on blue visor but my old color for that was yellow and it didn't look great against the bone armor. Any advice or tips would be super.
Been slowly repainting my Haqqislamites (mostly Ramah) while in quarantine. Same scheme sort of, but toned down significantly, using the same browns and greys to desaturate the colors and then trying to be much more precise with my linework.
Well, seems much like the "Desert 6-color" aka "chocolade chip" camo, used by US Army from the 1970s to 1990s, IIRC... Excellent job, regardless of inspiration :)
Haqqislam's combat armor is inspired by USA futuristic military suit designs. Since Haqqislam also has the remnants of NASA it makes sense that their combat gear shares a link with USA designs.
Bit late to the party, but here’s my scheme. Green with blue. Wanted it to be a bit more “sci-fi” while still keeping the grounded look of the faction. https://www.instagram.com/p/BzTldbCHWAX/
@Zelaponeepus Looks good. I think you pulled off your goal. They certainly look "grounded" & unique equally.
Finished up the next 2 in this scheme, I like it more and more, need to overwork my old haqqislam guys after finishing up my pile of shame :)
I too like it the more I stare at it. Your backlog is going to look grand on the tabletop once you get them finished.
Did the next 2 minis in this scheme, the farzan was a bit to tiny and got a lot of Gimmicks, that the whole scheme doesn't work, the Tuareg Hacker was the better one for that :) So now enough spam with this scheme ^^ More pics are on my insta profile: https://www.instagram.com/wylde83/
