Fighting in a dusty ruined temple sounds like a scene from an old Kung Fu film. Correction sounds like an awesome idea for a diorama.
Neat minis, even the Boyg render looks fine, the dossier is weird. My main point of interest are the bases with PHYSICAL LOF Markings on them. Makes a lot of sense for C1, but equally beneficial for Infinity to most of os not doing something custom on their own, just using paint.
Really? You know they exist for around a year now? Since Wildfire? But back on topic, to be honest, none of the Beyond Figures I find really striking. The best is still the Locust (what a waste) followed by the Jing Qo. The Shang Ji suffers from the hacker helmet (even Javier wasn't able to save that) and I think I would never think about playing a ShangJi hacker. Ye Mao and Vargar have strange looking helmets as well and the Boyg is okay, but I don't think S5 is suiting PanO very well.
I think a lot will depend on the paintjob. Many issues are exaggerated by 3d models, but look ok on actual miniatures. I certainly hope that it'll be the case for Boyg, - it's not bad, but doesn't look much like PanO unit. More like a Nomad SHI. Varg's helmet looks actually realistic, it's about the size of a present-day motorcycle helmet (which indeed makes it look a bit out of place among the tight-fitting things we've always seen so far. I don't understand the prejudice against hacking visors, apparently to each his own. Shang-Ji looks sweet, Jinq Qo is a nice, dynamic sculpt, Ye Mao mask looks weird - but again, it might get salvaged by the actual sculpt and paintjob.
Hacking visors would be fine if we got two heads. And for HI they don't make much sense in universe, surely they can integrate that into the helmets?
Maybe they don’t want to. Maybe they prefer to have standardized helmets with a clearly defined integrity, and add the hacking visor as an external component that is provided only to those proficient in their usage. I mean, this matters only if we’re going to go down the path of “is this realistic for a futuristic army”, and in which case CCWs would like to have a word.
Hacking equipment is also supposed to stick out for identification on the table. Hacking visors on minis has been a thing since N1. Now we get fancy backpacks to go with them.
Hacking visors are the Infinity equivalent of IT people using 4 monitors and the loudest keyboard they can find, the normal helmet display just doesn't have enough space to show everything!
"By the Jade Throne, where did Wang get such loud holograms, did he get speakers implanted in his gloves just for the sound?"
Official statement from Corvus Belli Operation Kaldstrom pre-order period extended Due to the COVID-19 crisis, there may be difficulties to deliver orders in many regions around the world. For this reason, we have decided to extend the pre-order period for Operation Kaldstrom to April 30th. We will start shipping pre-orders as soon as posible. Together we can stop this. Stay at home! https://www.facebook.com/InfinitythegameCB ------------------------------------------------------ Also, let me edit with another statement: Important note! Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the government of Spain has decided to impose a stop to non-essential activities. Therefore, orders from our online store may have longer delivery times tan normal. Together we can stop this. Stay home! https://www.facebook.com/InfinitythegameCB
@Koni Does that mean that resellers who usually received the preorders around the end of the month will not receive Kaldstrom by the end of April? Or only a longer preorder window from the CB store?
@Koni I know you might not want to/be able to answer this but is there a date when we'll see the PDF for the Code:One rules? I don't know about everyone else but having it to mull over and start army building for would definitely help take my mind off things. Hope you and the rest of the CB family are keeping safe and well.
The assumption here is that reseller are still working... There is a likelyhood that they might however they might not depending where you are. check your FLGS may be they have news from the company that imports the goods. Looks like CB will still send orders (albeit with constraints) and I'm wondering if it wouldn't be more sure to order directly into CB. If you get commitment from your FLGS then probably should go through them just for support...
I'm interested to hear from CB whether the longer preorder date means the shipments to FLGS are delayed.
I wonder if they're still sticking to that. I'd guess they want to release the C:1 army builder at the same time but they're obviously going to be stretched at the minute. They might want to delay til the boxes are in people's hot hands.
If they are unable to actually go to work, it may not matter what they want. The Army update and PDF rules book may be able to get worked on from home, but may not be set up, so... who knows?
