Honestly, my approach would be making it a ''PanO Mowang'' of sorts. Slap NWI on there, got FA1 instead of Mimetism so it isn't a carbon copy, maybe add a Red Fury profile. Maybe round out the ARM to 6 instead of 5. Then we'd also get an excuse as to its Silhouette: all that extra bulk was to make a literal walking tank that is more compact than a TAG. Other than that... waiting for N4. T: I never quite understood why S5 wouldn't fit and is immediately written off as a sign of ''low tech.'' I am pretty sure a Charontid isn't considered a low tech piece, and I'm pretty sure a Gamma isn't low tech either ( Actually, looking at Gammas again, I realize my suggested improvements would just make the Boyg a worse Gamma... ). So long as there's a justification behind the enlarged bulk, it's fine. I mean, you wouldn't call a Yan Huo or a Su-Jian low-tech either due to their Silhouettes: that extra bulk was needed for being able to heft TAG sized armaments or for that transformation stuff to become a thing. So yes, I agree that S5 can fit in PanO. More beating bricks is always nice.
Finally figured out what I really hated about the Boyg. It's a PanO elite HI and they forgot to give him the PanO thing - BS15. ;D
Well, BS15 was a mistake ... seriously: as long as other factions are not gettng more BS14 units, I see no need for PanO to get more BS15 units.
The Boyg N3 profile wont be the same in N4, so it isn't an excuse for a Boyg N3 useless. How to fix it? Give to it NWI.
Huh? A Breaker Rifle is arguably better than any AP weapon by. Halving BTS 3 or 6 is almost always equal to that of what an AP Rifle would do and it's better than K1 against BTS0 targets as it's actually not limited to damage 12, unlike the K1. Sure, you can dislike the Breaker Ammo all you want but it's not a bad ammo type, not compared to anything else in the game and in the same cost bracket.
Breaker ammo can even be argued to be superior to AP ammo, since there are more units with lower/equal BTS to their ARM then units with lower ARM compared to BTS ( That being said, using Breaker ammo against those units becomes a genuine pain. ).
So the Boyg actually has a purpose in the HI roster and I can guarantee you it's actually a pretty good one, it's flexible list construction. I had a similar initial response to the Mowang, I've already got alot of really good HI attacking bruisers of varying grades, why are we getting another one? In the end I came to really like the Mowang, specifically because it allows a good HI bruiser for a big discount on the SWC profile, big nasty HI with a 1SWC Red Fury was actually a totally new avenue for Yu Jing. This opened up other options elsewhere in the army list, like having a second TR bot, slotting in a Rui Shi where I couldn't afford it before, upgrading a Tiger Soldier and so on and so forth. So what does the Boyg give you? His Mk12 with Full Auto is essentially delivering a 0 SWC FAT1 Spitfire on a platform that would normally charge you 2 SWC for it. The Boyg gives you +33% SWC, if you like cramming SWC taxing toys into your army lists like TR bots and multiple Bulleteers he's something you'll want to look at.
This. This right here is why I adore the Mowang and still dare to defend the Mk12 Kriza. ( As well as think the Spitfire Jujak is interesting: it seems to be 0.5 SWC cheaper. ). SWC is usually less valuable than points, but considering how many odd 0.5-1 SWC costing bits and baubles there are around, it's kind of nice to get such discounts. That saved SWC can go into Hackers, Panzerfausts, Minelayers, TR Bots or other odd SWC costing things, like an Echo Bravo for example. It's got a niche, albeit a very niche niche.
Additionally, with the +1B and the Heavy Pistol, you’re never really in a bad range band, whichever of the two profiles you’re running.
breaker is bad let's try it with for the sake of not spending to much time testing it only with the 6 new PanO profil: breaker VS normal ammo: KARHU: you lose one dmg NOKK: nothing GUNNAR: you gain 1 dmg VARG: you gain 1 dmg BOYG: you gain 2 dmg KoJ: nothing AP VS normal ammo: KARHU: nothing NOKK: you gain 1 dmg GUNNAR: you gain 1 dmg VARG: you gain 1 dmg BOYG: you gain 2 dmg KoJ: you gain 2 dmg so AP is better and no TAG in the list, and AP is already a weak ammo ... I would never want to pay for this ammo even halved BTS tend to be superior to ARM, because of a lot of stupid BTS 6 LI ofc VS ariadna it's better
You're pretending there aren't factions full of troopers with low BTS (read 0) but higher armour out there.

With the BS, ARM and W of the Boyg it really has the stats to make the B2 active gun thing work, its also going to delete what it hits and can pull secondary duty as an ARO piece if required.
its definitely a point in favour of the Boyg. Particularly if you want to fus on loading up on a lot of the goodies like the Nokken Minelayers, Nisse gunboats, Vargar and Karhu's The Boyg as a Big chunky no-SWC secondary gun is a nice pick for hard targets
