Assuming ALEPH vs Nomads, it'd be Dakini Bikini's vs Grrls Gone Wild? Sure, but then they also will have Tohaa with a big "They're DEAD!" flag in N4, so it'd be easy enough to upload Aleph vs Nomad in Army and say "coming soon" or something. I do understand their desire to streamline the purchase path, but customers have the internet and are going to hit online stores and see other cool units they might want and find out they cannot use any of them.
Those cool units could be used in N4. Perhaps they'll just go right to them. And with the Tohaa I think Spiral Corp will hang out in N4 for a while, even if proper tohaa are gone.
Tohaa are not dead or gone. They will not be in N4 at release but will be readded by the end of 2020 at the latest (by CB declaration). I can assume there might be a delay but this not happening at all would be a gross abuse of player trust after the statements CB have made.
Not sure what you mean? The guys above my post might've not read the statement. They seem to be under the wrong impression, at least.
Nah, I wrote at first, that I thought that CB said the Sectorials would be released in 2021, but then I read the statement again and its really 2020. And then I edtited it, that my post is pointless.
I was referring to the fact some of the armies will have a flag to say they don't have minis actively in store right now so new players don't chase after them. Similar could easily be done with CodeOne and armies that aren't active yet.
IIRC, teorically, all N4 sectorials will be aviable during 2020, even tohaa. What will be released during 2021 is the other armies for C1 (there is some confusion between all of this). N4 in 2020, C1 in 2021. Al least, that's what I took out of this pasts days. But I am pretty sure that, for N4, there will be some armies delayed to 2021, or rushed & untested for getting them in this year.
So am I correct in assuming that there will be no rules in C1 for armies other than Yu Jing, PanO, CA, and O-12?
No rules and no Code One branded releases. Those 4 armies will be the focus of the first year of releases, then a new battle pack will introduce two new factions to Code One. N4 will launch with all in-production factions and sectorials, with the discontinued ones added within a few months.
There is an implied “Yet” to that statement. On the one hand, it makes sense that CB wants to do a rolling release, instead of trying to release both versions of the game at once; and Code One is officially for getting new players into the game, not for existing players. But future plans and everything subject to change....
Exactly. Wildfire gets repacked this year for CodeOne, and then next year Kaldstrøm, with a new box coming and Wildfire's halves slipping out of CodeOne.
Was this confirmed somewhere? I don't recall this part. It would make sense to me that once all the armies have their battle packs split that CodeOne is essentially complete. I don't think it would make any sense to discontinue the split boxes for CodeOne. Those should always be available for a new player to get into it no matter when they decide to.
It doesn't really matter. The reason why the split boxes are Code One is because Corvus Belli says they are and provide profiles for them. If, down the line, they are finished they can continue the boxes and... just not put Code One stuff in it.
I mean, it doesn't matter to us, the veteran players. But I see their CodeOne vision as a complete ecosystem for beginners and as such it wouldn't make sense to rotate out the already split boxes. Once every army gets a CodeOne battle pack + Beyond that is eventually split, their TAG, their remotes, and whatever else was in that graphic that oddly doesn't seem to be present in this thread, they will be done with CodeOne and it will be fairly static from that point on. Taking the CodeOne label off of a box that had it on before would just be more confusing to someone trying to get into the game or a store trying to figure out what to stock.
Right, once an Army is "complete" for CodeOne, there's no reason to discontinue the labeling for the core products or remove them from CodeOne Army for instance. There will still be plenty of releases for armies/ sectorials under N4.
Quickstart rules for Code One are up it seems: https://downloads.corvusbelli.com/codeone/quick-start-rules/quick-start-rules-codeone-en.pdf
Hmm, wonder if ARM is going to count as a MOD to enemy's DAM now and if that'll cap a Jotum's ARM in Cover at 12?
