Well, now they’ve done it. The new Shaolin Wandering Monk is perhaps the best Infinity miniature ever made. He has so much character and presence.

There is one problem, though. I need more monks and I need them now!

This guy may end up a merc, maybe and hopefully not. Either way, picture a whole box of new Shaolins in this style. I could see the standard Shaolins losing the chest plate, but that would only allow for more flowing robes and martial arts goodness.

Just to show I can be reasonable, I am willing to wait a whole month or two for more monks ;)

Well done CB, now get to work on my monks.

Yeah, one of their best miniatures ever. Too bad retailers can't have it, for reasons that elude me at the moment.

Locking it behind that bundle AND CB store is a very unfortunate move indeed.

It can also be ordered individually from CB.

My guess is that Saito and Valkyrie were over ordered by some stores so they could flip them on ebay (Miniature Market still lists 20+ limited Saito in stock).

Well, that changes things. I guess I was thrown off by the big banner with the bundle.

And the answer to the ill behaviour of some retailers is to punish them all? I'm not sure that's the reason. But I'd like to know.

See colbrook message that I quoted, he said that some stores ordered a good amount of miniatures to sell at inflated prices. I'm not familiar with those stores tho.

Toxic behaviour like this shit makes it harder to get this game off of life support in my area. How the fuck am I supposed to get my store excited while telling them people shouldn't buy through them?

Love the monk, hate CB's behaviour about it.

That IS a curve ball to retailers, which is strange considering the effort in cutting SKUs down. I'd like to know the reasoning behind their decision actually.

If it goes like it always goes, then there will be a non limited version of the wandering monk in the next release slot. Saito regular was better then Saito limited - and cheaper ;-)

But I think it was not the best idea to put a feet on the face of the fallen Budda statue´s head. At least in Thailand this is a cultural no go. Yes Infinity maybe not a thing there, but I wonder how other asian communitys will like that or not.

I think it would be sad for people to take offence to such a thing. This is a game. This game has it's own story to tell and is not making a baias statment for or against things in our reality (as far as I can tell. I could be wrong). This monk has his own motives and feelings towards his life. Him stepping on the face of a statue is about his prespective and no one elses.

    Couple things.
    1. I'd be surprised if this guy was a generic merc like a libertos or bounty hunter. The past couple bundle exsclusive characters like Saito and Valkyrie are not generic mercs.

    2. Like Saito and Valkyrie you dont have to get the whole bundle to get them. They can be ordered separately.

    3. Like Saito and Valkyrie it's a safe assumption this character will have a normal release in a few months.

Well, for the stepping on the Statue thing...I have always assumed it has more to do with the world around it than the character itself, his motivations are probably not of the blasphemer type (he’s got religious troop probably, like other monks), but rather a grittier (and rougher way) to demonstrate his resolve, for all I know the statue might have been cut down already and he is standing on it by mere happenstance or in a clumsy way of demonstrating he won’t give way to those who destroy such things.

So in a sense I believe the Monk to be protecting the statue in his own way....at least that’s what my head canon says about him.

Edit: I am not Asian, and I completely understand how this might be pretty offensive to those religiously and culturally inclined, and in Fact would much prefer of it didn’t make parts of the playerbase/potential clients Uneasy.

    1. I think we learn in one of the videos
    2. But for a horrible shipping fee. In Europe it's 13 or 15 €. So if you want one you pay approx 30 €
If the whole bundle is shipping free, it may be an option. But even then you have to pick the DF box, which may be around 30 to 40 €
    3. But you not know if this will look better or not

I think the same. But still a second thought could be helpful.

The new monk is really nice. I think that's pose is looking to be dramatic. I hope people will not overreacting at this.

Well, perhaps he got kicked out of his temple and his now wandering precisely because he was climbing all over Buddha statues???

Have none of you ever heard of a convention exclusive miniature before?? Back in the day if you didn't go to the convention you couldn't get the model, it's something that has been going on for decades. CB is one of the few companies that gives it's customers a chance to get it online at the same time. It's no different than the miniature they put out in the prize kits.
