OK, is Liang Kai available only as CB online store package purchase or will he be added to pre-ordered packages in FLGS?

 

I'm really interested in seeing whether the Ninja and Kai are general mercs for vanilla a'la Libertos or Authorized Bounty Hunters, restricted mercs for specific factions a'la Wild Bill and McMurrough, native mercs a'la Major Lunah and Highlander Cateran, or partisan troops a'la Zuyong or Ghulam.

From the colours I'd assume;
Ninja: general merc or restricted merc
Liang Kai: native Yu Jing merc or partisan Yu Jing troop.

 

I might be hoping for a bit much here, but maybe this signifies a move towards more elite base unit for the Infinity spec ops should this one be based on a Zhanying - similar to what Aleph already have with their Deva spec ops. I might be hoping for too much when I hope Haidao will become the base for IA spec ops... but on the other hand I do think that it's somewhat about time that they got shifted to ~20 point units instead of the current ~10 pointers which inevitably produces some very skewed and mixed bags where 12 XP is not a lot for factions that need to find room for an infantry it's not designed to use and that's inherently incompetent while other factions get spec ops with some really great basic gear and skills.

 

Aleph is the exception because Dakini specops would've been weird to say the least.

a) Was talking about the profile in of itself, nor is it ever fucking worth the command token, unless it's situation happening in Narnia. Lmao.

b) Unless it's extremely circumstantial, B3 on 9's on a platform that has zero MOD's is extremely order inefficient and trash odds of wounding anything. The unit you're commenting is demonstrably trash in any other meta higher than casual. Get fucked and git gud.

Also, the notion that Triangulated Fire is used for ODD/TO units is a false meme. The actual useage of the skill is to shoot an enemy unit that is engaged with a friendly model, without harming your friendly.

 

Let's hope Zhanyings get more interesting options for upcoming updates. Until that, he's a newbie toy, unfortunately for their good sculpts.
