I know my old minis will live on as proxies. They pull double duty now, I don't see why that would change in the future EDIT: sorry, misunderstood initially what you were trying to say. Surely you understand how including those legacy sectorials in the game don't lead to sales?
This is an interesting point, because I think we're seeing a climate change in real time – they are no longer representative of PanO.
Now that's a good question. I'm not sure we'll have a clearer view until Sval comes out, and even then, we'll probably have to wait until N4. After the culling we'll see what remains, what changes, what mercs stick around, and if they add any odd profiles.
Certainly. And I believe my friends would say I'm the absolute opposite of an alarmist. But a Tik in MO, or a Swiss Guard in Vanilla, aren't the same thing as they are in their parent sectorials. That being said, Belen's post makes me optimistic. That's great news.
It would seem that NCA and SAA remain playable and will be added to N4 with a time-delay relative to the "in production" factions: https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threa...e-in-n4-stuck-in-n3.36792/page-10#post-328860
certainly a surprise to me! Here's to hoping they take time and actually give them a proper over haul for N4
From the sound of Belen’s post (Bostria is great but can I just say I appreciate Belen being a bit more serious when it’s called for) they plan to overhaul them too, which is why they are delayed. Otherwise from an IT perspective porting out profiles to a new DB for N4 army should be easy, and shouldn’t cause a delay, but then I don’t know how their DB is actually setup. I’ll take a delay over being squatted any day of the week.
I think the concern remains but at least there is room for hope. Won't begrudge anybody who thinks "later"might not come
I know there are no promises at this stage of the game but it seems to me that “your old sectorial full of old sculpts won’t be in the original release but will come later” is a really good thing, because it seems likely that a later release will come with new sculpts, a polished sectorial list based on experience with the N4 rule set, etc.
Maybe not quite as easy because N4 is splitting and changing up a lot of skills, so there's probably a decent amount of work to be done converting the profiles.
Ah, there were some replies in the other thread that made me think they just have a confusing name. Thanks! :)
This is a great response, and exactly what I hoped for. It makes sense that, if anything needs to be delayed for N4 to launch well, the OOP forces would be the ones selected for later release. I look forward to seeing what N4 brings for Acon and NCA, and am glad that this year is my journey to Varuna!
I think they can support all of PanO's or other factions' sectorials at once. Lowering sku's & having models go oop is one thing. Removing a sectorial or faction is another. I'm against it. Don't remove the sectorials/factions from the Army Builder. Simply allow the players to play older armies until the force get reworked like what happened with the Shasvastii. The old Shas were kept in Army Builder until their resculpt/rework so why can't these sectorials & Tohaa be done in the same way? The only reason to completely remove a force is if they are destroyed in the lore. For example, having a very low selling or disliked force getting squatted. I don't see any of these armies in that situation. Therefore I don't see why CB should or have to remove any of them from play permanently even for a short time.
