It's really simple: Units with miniatures out of production ? get axed from generic faction Units that belong to the axed sectorial but still have miniatures in production ? they stay in the vanilla generic roster. No need to move units to other sectorials.
What is there really to add? "Corvus Belli rep makes gaffe and riles up community! LOL! CLICK THE LINK TO SUBSCRIBE!!!!" And frankly, given how little effort they put into NCA? Screw them if they want to just pad other Sectorials with the stuff. I bought NCA, not MO or VIRD.
What is NCA's unique playstyle to you? NCA was my 1st sectorial. To me they were all about shooting there way out of the deployment zone and fighting towards the objectives. They typically bring really good firepower. If you could recreate the playstyle you feel is NCA in another sectorial wouldn't that be good? If you could do it with those same iconic units from NCA but in another sectorial wouldn't that also be good? Let's say that neoterra gets absorbed by military orders. Maybe they become a new sectorial called the neo crusade or something and you could recreate that same NCA playstyle in MO but if you wanted too could also do traditional MO playstyles?
Personally I don't believe these factions will be unavailable in N4. In light of their post in late 2018 (https://www.infinitythegame.com/blog/item/613-what-will-2019-bring-from-corvus-belli), making those factions invalid in ITS would directly contradict this statement...I would think CB wouldn't do something so astronomically stupid - lying to customers in order to dump overstock product is a great way to lose all of your customers.
@atomicfryingpan we don't choose our sectorials for their playstyle alone. We also choose them for the minis and theme. And in general, can everyone calm down? The news is bad, emotions run high, we could use some official info right now but probably won't get it until later this week, if this ends up being true it'll be a very poor decision - AND STILL NONE OF THIS IS AN EXCUSE TO ATTACK EACH OTHER, OR USE VARIOUS PASSIVE-AGGRESSIVE REMARKS. We're grown-ups, if not adults. Let's act like it. And no, by acting like adults I don't mean waging a war for profit, or committing a genocide.
I'm afraid that CB is pretty well known for doing exactly that. Those were smaller things before, I've made my rants about them as well, but this just takes the cake.
I can't believe how easy is to believe blindless what is posted by non-oficial/non-staff people but the oficial comunication is directly saw as totally fake
Well, you did miss a small detail in that title: "What will 2019 bring from Corvus Belli" That was technically true to the letter! Welcome to 2020!
is the same as to blindlessly believe in that antything that CB does is good, and swap away any concern of whoever says something different than "CB does everything good". This is also happening here (not saying you are doing it) as far as I understand, it doesn't say "during this year" but "always"...
@Stiopa no doubt about minis and theme. If those minis that were iconic to that theme in a new sectorial wouldn't that theme still be around? Like bolts to me could easily fit into the theme of varuna. They have that elite spec ops feel to them, aquila guard as well. Swiss guard feel like they could easily fit into the theme of military orders since they work for the Pope and all that.
I dont think most of people here believe it, i think the general approach is "we are waiting for the official response", but many people here have enough similar experiences with other cases of conflicting informations, it became a kind of self fulfilling prophecy. False rumours are easy to debunk, it is just a one post. I think we would be happy with just a simple "thats not true", lack of that even laconic dialogue riles some people up :(
That's true, there is too fanboy. But you know, my point is that instead of rasing the pitchforks and lighting torches we should wait until the say something, maybe it's all a confusion and everything is ok, or maybe not and it's totally normal to get angry with the decision. I hope the first, but won't put my two cents on it. And wait to this Friday's video to know what they say
Well, official communication doesn’t serve the Narrative of PANIC!!!, so of course it gets dismissed.
Maybe CB wants this caos for some weird reason XD I'm from South Spain, I don't understand well enough mesetarians XD
If they were going to go that far, they would just do the last 10% and add the sectorials in. Acon has a total of 5 unique units that aren't shared in another PanO faction or from aleph (Regulars, Bagh Mari, Akalis, Guarda de Assalto, Dragoes). If they were even reworking 3 of these, there's no reason not to fix the last two and just give Acon a sectorial treatment. To be fair, another statement just like this one said 2019 would be the year of Tohaa, and we can see how that turned out. (Poorly.)
Yes and no. If someone is attached to a particular unit, then yeah, moving it into a different sectorial wouldn't hurt too bad. But I'm talking about sectorial theme. It's like deleting MO, splitting knights over all other sectorials, and saying that there's no problem, you still can play with knights. Or scrapping Varuna, moving Zulu Cobras, Cutter, and Crocs into Acontecimento, and saying that you can still play your sci-fi Navy Seals. Getting angry on the pitchforks & torches level isn't productive, but @ik3rian post is on point; some people got burned a lot over the last few years; bad rumours have a tendency to be true, while CB's communication policy is lackluster, to put it mildly. That's why even if I don't agree with the angry response I can very much understand where it comes from, and I won't say it's completely unjustified.
I for one would be sad with QK illegible to play on N4 rules, but i can live with that. Making many units obsolete is a harder pill for me to swallow.
@Stiopa maybe I'm not getting it, but let's use your MO example. Let's say I really like the theme of space knights and crusading and deus vulting and all that jazz. If MO gets canned but let's say the new sval sectorial gets a bunch of new knights and old MO knights then wouldn't I be able to continue playing with the theme I really enjoy? Maybe I only like knights and none of those pesky nisses or fusiliers, well couldn't I still technically only run the knights and still enjoy that theme? Obviously assuming the sectorials AVA allows it.
