Anyone have any experience with this stuff? Been looking at a bunch of it on Goblin Gaming and it seems great!
Just not their objective room - it's the wrong size :-/ Everything else I've encountered is great thought :)
Which one? I know their old one was too small but I thought the new one in the "Designed for Infinity" range with acrylic windows was the right size. Edit: Just measured mine, it's 8" per side, pretty much perfect.
Fantastic! I didn't know there was a new one. I have this one: https://ttcombat.com/products/objective-room It's about 7 inches door to door, 8 inches pillar to pillar. I have to use a 8x8inch piece of paper under it to show the 'walls', otherwise players expecting they can't be hacked/jammed etc are in for a nasty surprise.
Here you go! Not painted yet but it looks pretty cool already. I mixed in the japanese hut from the eastern empires range to give it more of a Yu Jing feel (I also have the asian themed bridges here - will post a picture once I've assembled them). If you are looking for bigger / more complex pieces, check this shop out: https://www.ebay.de/usr/wargame-model-mods?_trksid=p2057872.m2749.l2754 I just received my shipment today and the stuff looks great. Spoiler
Absolutely zero experience with that range, but the general reputation TTcombat has is of cheap but quality terrain with good service, and the reviews on that zone of the forum are few but uniformly good. So i'd say if you have availability try them out and let us know :) And of course i gotta post a Mel video
One cool thing about the objective compound, that I didn't know when I bought it, is that the corners have 8 hooks that the walls can connect to, this means it pretty much flat-packs for storage, and can be used as normal walls/fences in other missions.
Some of it is pretty good and you can't really go wrong with certain pieces Had very few problems with their earlier designs. Their more recent designed for infinity range has some great stuff in it but is also full of mistakes and drawbacks; clashes by mis-design, sections where the cross section of a piece is narrower than the material so it snaps when being removed, and even just the occasional bit of poor quality cutting that just shouldn't have been sent out etc. I built the Event bundle after I picked it up and did a review and things to watch out for in my terrain thread starts at post #20 https://forum.corvusbelli.com/threads/gravitons-terrain-singularity.3298/ You get what you pay for basically, I fully intend to get some more TT stuff but only select pieces.
Thanks for the pics Knauf! They have convinced me to pick up some pieces! The dome looks class! And the terrain seems quite modular for swapping pieces around to keep things fresh!
I also have their plaza, like with Graviton's experience in his thread the slot was too small for the acrylic... thing to go in, they did however send me out a replacement for that part. What isn't pictured is that our comes with a bunch of benches and planters as well, which makes for nice scatter terrain.
I like TTCombat, its a good price / quality terrain.. got the Landing Platfrom, some Container and at least a Tower i change to a Haqqislam Praytower :)
I haven't bought any of there infinity range, but I bought a ton for 40k. I bought all the gothic ruined buildings and the modular city streets and I think they look amazing.
So I've finished putting together the Sci-fi Plaza and Objective compound I bought last August, I also have their old objective room, Maglev train, and a whole bunch of crates from them. My overall opinion is that TT stuff is good, but not great. I've also got a good chunk of MAS and Warmill, a little Warsenal, and have played on a good amount of Sarissa and Zen stuff. They're all higher quality, but that's not to say that TT is bad, it's perfectly fine, with the occasional quirk. Most importantly the TT stuff is also cheaper than any of the other brands I mentioned. So is it worth the cash? Yes, they have some interesting designs and are very good value for money.
This are my Terrain parts of TTCombat.. they are not out the infinity Range, but i fit it to it :) The Landing Platform and the Container, i changed a bit on them, i close the under Part to get a better playstyle with this and i put some stripes on the Container, they look a bit boring without it :) And here is my Haqqislam Praytower I Think i will buy more of the Container, like it and they got a good price
Very cool looking stuff Wylde! Anyone have any tips for painting MDF terrain? My mate said to use enamel primer, as the wood can swell from paint otherwise! :-)
I use Acryl Sprays to prime it .. my tower is Primed with citadel zandalar dust and my other MDF terrain i use some cheap acryl white matt deko Spray from my local Hardware Store, works well for me
I posted a Mel video above and it includes tips on that, but in general the summary is to "seal" the MDF before anything so that it doesn't gobble up paint like crazy, spray cans are good for this, i recall the Antenocity dude swearing for "shellac" wood sealer, and i've seen the TTcombat people themselves selling a sealer in their own web store.
