O-12 Heavy Armor List

    Hey all,

    I was inspired by the heavy armor ideas that were started in the Pan O boards. So i wanted to see what lists centered around HI would look like? I had some ideas on running betas with monstrucker support, gammas for long range support and then the specialist omega. A sirius and gang buster hacker would be good support I think too.

    Dunno whether you mean speculating on the (probable) O-12 sectorial shortly after N4 launch or whether you mean HI-centric lists in vanilla, but I'd be willing to play something like this:

    The Yudbot should go on the Monstertrucker on the simple basis that you probably want to push Coordinated with the Beta in it. Epsilon I'd normally go HMG, but this might not be entirely necessary in this list - same with Gamma, which in this list will have more of an overwatch duty while the Omega HMG is intended to be the designated gunman (an Omega with Feuerbach would've been lethality itself)

    I tried to stick to HI as much as possible here:

    - Gamma Feuerbach LT who can work as an ARO and active piece, depending on whether you get 1st turn or not
    - Cho CoC for when he dies (can also Holo as another Omega to fit the HI theme)
    - Omega HMG for additional fire superiority
    - Cyberghost for White Noise to counter MSV.
    - Beta Spitfire for midfield firepower
    - Beta Doctor as a sturdy specialist who can also revive your Omega/Gamma with Yudbot
    - Beta KHD as another specialist who synergizes well with the Cyberghost
    - Lmabda Engineer to repair Remotes/Betas
    - 2 Snifferbots for defense and order generation

    This list may be a touch less HI-centric than the previous lists, but I still think it's quite good and it HAS won me a few games.

    Omega HMG is the hammer and eliminates enemy AROs and/or goes on an ODD-fueld rambo-run gunning things down.
    Beta Spitfire is a backup attacking piece to get unconventional attack vectors and ferret out enemies the omega can't easily reach.
    Beta doctor and specialist push buttons, dig into the midfield, and become opportunistic attack pieces should the HMG and Spitfire eat it.
    Alpha uses strategos for extra regular orders and deployment advantages.
    Gangbuster zaps enemy hackers, slows enemy advance with madtraps, and pushes buttons.
    Razor kills enemies with his TO-shotgun combo, slows enemy advance with mines, and.... pushes buttons.
    Varangians cheerlead and protect the DZ with templates and berserk CC threat.
    Epsilon either AROs or eliminates enemies through Varangian smoke.

    Keep in mind you can downgrade the beta doctor to a beta KHD (I didn't want to 'cause it'd make him vulnerable to enemy killer hackers who can easily zap him) and the varangians to light shotgun + chain rifle profiles (better for DZ ARO defense due to the longer range and shotguns make up for their bad ballistic skill) to upgrade the beta multi-rifle specialist to an Omega. May be a good idea 'cause a suppressing ODD HI unit with a multirifle and heavy riotstopper in the midfield next to an objective is... genuinely amazing. You can also downgrade the Alpha to Big-K-Chizzle to save more points, but with limited insertion the extra order from strategos makes a big difference.

    I think O 12 heavy infantry is great and have success running a Gamma Feuerbach, Beta spitfire and a Beta specialist. I tend to like the beta KHD with SMG just to have him be a pain to any would be TO hackers. That tend to be good offensive spear point. Then you can build out what you like around it: I tend to go with an Alpha and Cyber Ghost because more orders and white noise are great.
    I find I tend to have to make a choice between the Gamma and the Omega and because my first army was Aleph SP I wanted to get away from ODD.
    Gamma Feuerbach can act as booth an offensive model or just left in cover to be a defensive nightmare.
    Beta are kitted for offensive use or pushing buttons.
    Omegas if used need to be mindful of all the MSV that is in the game but can be a good pitch hitter between ARO and active if you have killed the enemy MSV.
    I wish there was a HI shock trooper or CC model.

    I also have a list which is 2 Beta and a Zeta.

    I ran my list today, Unmasking vs CHA

    It was okay? It lacked in all the areas it obviously lacked but did at least have a degree of resilience towards enemy fire. I enjoyed playing it a lot more than I would say it was actually strong, though. Lots of fun. I will say that having a lot of high PH and ARM multiwound guys is definitely strong against warbands and mines, and all of those HI in suppression fire can be tough to deal with.
