After playing spiral corps for a while, I was thinking about trying normal Tohaa for a bit. I was curious if people have any good suggestions for what to proxy as a Sukeul or if there is some place to that might still be selling the old sculpts.

Tohaa spec-ops would be my go to, particularly the one from the Spiral Corps box. Otherwise Kosuils as nobody in their right mind would ever actually field one, so it won't get confused with anything. Draal also work but see plenty of table time so you'd need to paint it differently or something

    U wot m8?

Kosuil BSG/PF is one of the best frontline specialists we have. He can push with the triad, covering 0-8 and 24-32 bands, threaten armor due to PF, do a bunch of classifies, push buttons and save your heavies from jammer and e/m. And all that is for just 24/0,5.

And if you need frontline antiarmor - K1 Combi Kosuil is worse than K1 Sukeul, but can provide some utility, or area denial with mines.

I'm with @WiT? on this one. Kosuils aren't even taken regularly in spiral corps, where they don't have to compete with cheaper, better Sakiels or more expensive, way better Sukeuls and other stuff. They're also nice models, so a good choice for a Sukeul proxy.

I just left the wings of a Fraacta, it fits in but isnt easily confused with anything else.

The fraacta is an interesting idea. I could also use the maakrep for the hmg. Any pictures of how it lines up with the rest with a similar paint scheme.

If I wanted to try to convert some a hatail or two. Any Tohaa HMGs left on available sculpts I could steal?

I feel like this has more to do with the way Spiral Plays then as a reflection of the Kosuil. Its a durable engineer designed to be part of a triad. In an army that doesn't have many pts, swc or triad slots to spare. And in which its Engineering skill is of no notable benefit.

    That's just my opinion though.

I think you're onto something with the lack of utility from being an engineer. It's an expensive skill, and Tohaa doesn't really get any use out of it either. If either sectorial could actually make much use of it, I think we'd see it more. Just for example if there was a symbioarmoured, reasonably combat-capable doctor I'd almost certainly give it a shot.

That's a really good idea. They're great minis, but rarely used - and still available due to availability in spiral. They could look great with a little conversion work too, if the OP was so inclined.

Thanks for the great ideas everyone. I wouldn't have thought to try something with the Igao.

Some folks were talking about the Sakiel. Should I worry about try to find a Spitfire model here or will I likely get everything out of the Sakiel in the starters?

Depends on your meta and style, I suppose. I love them and usually take a Lt Sakiel in most of my lists. I also try to fit a LRL Sakiel for aro duties, and sometimes take the FO profile for a durable Liaison Officer.

Sakiel is a cheap but decently tough piece, working best in triads as a kind of filler/frontline specialist.
