No, it was July, you can see it by looking at the pledge levels in the Kickstarter (which it is not possible to change after the fact). Wave 2 was estimated as "Autumn" and is currently estimated as November, also known as the third month of Autumn.
The July was a delay already. First information provided by CB was June 2020, my b-day is 2nd June and I remember initially considering it a cool "gift" from myself. Then the actual KS page showed up and it was July. Now it's August. Will it remain August? [ X ] D O U B T
It's probably the first solid information on N4, It could be run as sort of an 8-ball pool game to N4's full table snooker, plus we've seen it before how tribalistic some folks can get over their factions in infinity... If a warcor has only one demo set, it's likely the half of the battle box that isn't their main faction, eve if they have all of them, 2 out of 4 of them only have half usable and 1 is unusable at launch. All-in it won't be a problem for a lot of people, but the people it is a problem for won't see that way...
I haven't interest in CodeOne, but with this novelty I have a doubt now. I hope that in N4 all the factions will have from CB the same type of good work for updates and news; and that CB does not apply preferences in some factions...
Coupled will all of the Operation boxes besides Kaldstrøm going OOP, likely wanted time to ease the other starters in/launch a full CodeOne book. Swings and roundabouts, etc.
As others have said, our thinking is to use this as a way to introduce newer players, and if CB is serious about it being a parallel way to play infinity, have a second way to enjoy our toys.
"The GREAT CULLING is at hand!!11!" I am a disappoint. I had planned on doing Code 1 from release up until the demos at GenCon. This puts a crimp in things and my personal goals/projects going forwards. Also it promised a look at the direction being taken as we await for the release of N4 in it's entirety. @Koni Is there even an estimated roll out schedule for the rest of the factions?
I'm not affected by this at all, but I do feel that this is incredibly unfortunate to just leave that statement hanging in the air like that. Why are the other core factions not included from the start? Did you have time constraints? Surely it can't be that hard to prepare even a preliminary army roster for them?
As usual, they've overestimated and underdelivered. Between keeping lights on in N3, the delays in Defiance, Code One at the door and N4 being 6 months out, they just can't juggle everything at once, so they're cutting corners. I'd really love for CB to be able to afford and/or willing to hire proper project management :(
Much rather they scale it back initially and start it great than try to do more than they can manage at once and make a mess of it.
Or they could start managing their projects properly instead of castrating them mid-release and disappointing their customers? Just a thought.
Will the China parts of the KS ship on time? Will CB have to slow down production due to lack of protective gear (even if not 100% the same, factories will probably change priorities)? Or for that matter, will all steps of supply chain keep on rolling as in past years? Schedules are already in bumpy ride mode. Globalization is far from distributed resilient production, more like the contrary, even if the term suggests something about the full planet. Nuada, you better go on holidays, otherwise your health will take a hit.
Nah, mate. That's just my ADD impatience with unexpected changes expressing itself and Aspie doesn't help in text either. I just want the Stuff to arrive today and in the state, for the cost I was told it would. All the tiny ways it deviates just grind my gears a bit :P Thanks for the concern though, appreciated :)
I am surprised that some people where expecting all factions to be available at the opening of Code 1. Based on the timeline that showed that Code One would be over a course of months, I assumed it would be gradual. I am interested in seeing what simplifications the Code One profiles will have, but N4 is what I a really looking forward to.
There were never limitations to what was available in Army, this is first. N3 dropped as a whole. We are told N4 drops as a whole, with complete updates to the new design model. There was no reason to expect an incomplete product with C1.
N3 did not drop whole, large chunks of the rules, every faction, and the entitrety of Aleph and Tohaa, only got partial updates until the release of HSN3
I meant that all factions were available, none were excluded. And as I mentioned, N4 is dropping whole-whole, reportedly, specifically to avoid the staggered rollout of N3 and the issues it caused.
