    Hi,
I played a game last week when this situation arose:

My friends walks his tag so it ends up inside the zoc of my oniwaban in Hidden deployment with his first short skill. With no LOF to the position of the oniwaban.

He then declares his 2nd short skill, a move again and I respond with engage since he activated his 2nd skill inside he zoc.

When I declared my aro we measured to see that the tag indeed began his activation of the first skill outside my zoc and outside lof.

    Did we play it right?

And what had happened if he began his first move inside my soc?

Tried to search for a similar post but couldn't find anything. Sry if this has already been answered.

    Thanks in advance.

Your Oniwaban would have generated an ARO after the Tag's first Move into your ZoC, and at this point Engage is not a valid ARO as the Oniwaban does not have LoF. If you failed to Declare any ARO at that point then the opportunity is lost and you forfeit the ability to ARO against the second Short Skill.

Remember that choosing a location to move to, specifying a path, measuring distance, and physically moving the model are all part of a Declaring a Move skill.

    From the wiki: "
A trooper owned by the Reactive Player can declare an ARO if any of the following is true:

    • It has Line of Fire (LoF) to a trooper being activated by the Active Player.
    • An enemy trooper activates within its Zone of Control (ZC).
    • It has a Special Skill or piece of Equipment allowing reaction to enemy actions without LoF."
Number 2 in that list. The word "activates" does imply all movement during the order, and not just the starring position of the model when declaring the activation then?

The ZC rules linked in that paragraph expand on that point:

    Zone of Control and ARO
Enemies entering or acting inside the Zone of Control of a trooper while remaining outside that figure's LoF can be reacted to, but only by using the Common Skill Change Facing or Reset, unless the trooper has a Special Skill or piece of Equipment that can be used without LoF.

He became visible during his second movement skill though. He walked around a corner.

Yes, but you'd already chosen to Forfeit your ARO against the order by not declaring anything when the TAG entered ZC.

Unless it was a TAG that had stealth (Cutter or O-yoroi for example), in that case unless the TAG specifically stated he did not use stealth you would not get an ARO until the second order.
