So assuming I’m playing in a tournament which has safe area, biotechvore and army of darkness but without the free avatar, what would you recommend in a vanilla force?

I’m thinking maybe some Kum bikers, a Hakim and a Ragik, but how to get out of the biotechvore area seems hard, also I think it’s a single list tournament

    cheers

Mukhtars...they have good BTS, NWI are fast have FD1. So in a pinch you can leave them back in the Biotech zone for the first turn and move your more vulnerable stuff out of danger. A Asawira is also worth considering, due to the BTS and good fighting abilities.

In addition to that I would take as many profiles, that have the ability to start the game outside of the Biotech zone and who are also Specialists, because Classifieds are so important in this mission.
Ghazi are always good and in this mission even more so.
And I would advise to invest in a bunch of PF Daylami, because you need to hamper your opponents ability to get out of the DZ with a minimum of orders. And since they are so cheap, the loss wont impact your scoring much.

My (limited!) experience with Biotechvore suggests the main thing is to get your troops out of the Biotechvore-affected area first. Secotrials get it easy there due to Fireteam Order efficiency... but with Forward / Mechanized Deployment, Infiltration, Airborne Deployment etc, you should be able to have a good number of troops outside of your DZ, and a Coordinated Order or two should do it for the rest.

The second thing is making it as difficult as possible for your opponent to achieve the same. The more Orders he spends on trying to shoot your models down, the less Orders he has to move his own troops out of the affected area. Which will likely turn them into casulaties with just a tiny bit of luck...

In a single Biotechvore game I had, my TAG did this job just fine. So it may be a good idea to bring your multi-wound rambo to the edge of the enemy Biotechvore zone and just move him into SF mode.

I actually think an Asawira may be a good choice for this mission considering its insanely high BTS.

I always have bad luck trying to roll for deployment abilities and correct me if I’m wrong but you need to roll for forward/mechanised deployment in addition to infiltration?

You do, but it's a very powerful ability in that mission. And its relatively low-risk, since failing the roll just means you deploy normally.

I’m running a tournament next weekend with Biotechvore.

I haven’t won my training games but am running a classical list with Saladin, two IMP and the rest infiltrating. In my experience enough of them will make their roll leaving you with plenty orders to move the rest out if harms way. All in all eight troopers that can deploy outside the zone.

Perhaps a bit if a gamble and also light on heavy weapons but that is the Haqq way. You’ll have plenty of mines to mess with your enemy.

The Asawira is very likely to be able to tank the Biotechvore with her BTS9, so using an Asawira could be an option. She's my preferred Haqq assault piece anyhow.

    Honestly, I dread this mission!
And it will be in the next round of our league, hooray...

I´d like to ask, on more stratrgic note. Assuming you have a fairly order-efficient list, able to leave the noxious zone with ease (in theory).
Should you win the initiative roll would you go first? second? or choose your deployment zone and deployment order?

Also, ruleswise, I have a doubt about AD and confused deployment. Say I decide to field a hakim. When would I roll his PH-3?
    1) During deployment, thus revealing him to my opponent the existence of a trooper not in the table?
    2) When I decide to bring him in? In that case, if the roll is failed I have to enter the table edge within deployment? or would I be able to choose any spot within it?

I usually pick first turn to be able to pin down my opponent's models and make it for them as hard as possible to leave the Biotechvore area.

As for the deployment: my thinking is it's the option 2.
