Been gone since around early Autumn due to both the local Infinity player base sorta receding a bit and university deemed my throat to be a fitting seating area, so can I have a real quick general rundown on some of the new stuff I may have missed. I've seen the new mercs everyone gets, also seen that O-12 is now a thing ( A thing of heavy infantry related beauty at that. ) and saw that some units got new skills it seems ( Mostly just noticed that the Daiyokai gets NCO, which is neat. ). Also, please tell me I am not hallucinating, but does every single TAG get Tactical Awareness now just by default? So is there anything I've missed here? Sorry if the question is a bit vague here, just wanted to catch up.
Aside from N4 coming this year that's pretty much everything. Though the TAGS that cost less than 75pts got a 4pt price hike when they got TA.
Didn't notice the latter part. Still, I like TAGs too, like a third or second behind HI, so an across the board buff for them is fine by me.
Defiance actually added a bunch of new characters to the game. Most of them are mid tier, fun to play but not OP stuff. You should watch out for: - Cadin in Ariadna: The legendary 5th wulver and a total CC monster to rival Valkyrie; - Jazzy Jazz in Nomads: Cheap as chips competent hacker that comes with a cheap as chips extra order; - Powered Armor Sheskiin: More of a sidegrade than an upgrade to original sheskiin, but people will bitch about her because FAT2 in an actually hard target. - Kendrat: CC missile. Basically a mini-McMurrough that any faction can use.
Yeah, I mostly only noticed Jazzy Jazz and Kendrat out of the new characters. Sheskiin is just Sheskiin, so ech.
Heavy Sheepskin is interesting. Personally I think I prefer facing that version due to having an additional tool to stop her (hacking) while the CA players around here seem to prefer her for not dying as often to a random unlucky ARO.
Wasn't she pretty insulated to random unlucky AROs before anyways, considering her innate two wounds...? Yeah, I've seen the new Yu Jing stuff. The first stuff I checked since I play them and all that. Seems nice. Just haven't really given them much thought, since it genuinely feels like everything that can be thought or said about the faction has been said more times over than they have HI units. Maybe even HI profiles since I genuinely lost count!
I don't like HI ShesdelĂcious because she can't be LT in Vanilla Combined and I refuse to play Shas on principle (I don't think they're broken, I just don't dig the faction lore). However, she is way more resistant than Light ShesdelĂcious, and that is a cool thing. I actually liked most of the defiance profiles, with the exception of Star John, who just feels underwhelming. I think CB did a neat job with the character design for those blokes in that they're mostly fun to play but none are really game breaking.
My point exactly! Funny you should say, he's gotten a decently warm welcome for those who play vanilla Yu Jing. Lukewarm, admittedly, but that's still above room temperature (and warmer than Qiang Gao got, butwatcanyado)
Honestly, the weirdest thing I saw on my return was how the Yu Jing forum didn't require Bioimmunity to navigate as much as it used to.
I rate him as a good choice for Vanilla Tohaa, his mines, shotgun, and brace of pistols set him apart decently from the Combi Kiiuiuiuiiiiuuutan. In Spiral he's definitely more of a side-grade but definitely has plus and minus points over his E/Mauler equivalent, I think he's actually pretty well designed.
