They don't quite look like wheels, but they kind of do, just like for Aleph, so... What's with CB putting wheels on the Climb+ REMs and more proper legs on the non-Climb+ REMs? I don't dislike them, I just find that detail slightly disturbing.
I just assumed that the REM has little grapple launchers and uses them to hold itself to the side of the building while “driving” upwards, similarly to the Tachikomas and Fuchikomas from Ghost in the Shell. I actually assume that most troops with Climbing+ use something similar, like a micro-grapnel launcher and fine steel or polymer cables, unless the trooper in question has obvious claws or something similar. It helps explain why climbing troops rotate their Silhouette 90 degrees during the climb. I want to know why the sculptors felt the need to add little cylinders at the knees of the REMs and widen the top aft hull; the narrower upper hull and cleaner lines on the legs in the concept art looked better to me at first glance. Still going to be a badass looking REM either way...
I can imagine that they've managed to make an adaptive material that mimics a gecko's suction pads' adhesive-but-not-adhesive-like qualities through the magic of sufficiently advanced science, but they still look like teensy tiny wheels to me :p
I like those, and the gun placement is exactly what bothered me about the Aleph rebots. I do believe that I'll soon have a new Samekh and Zayin rebot!
All the releases: Mukhtar Spitty Nox Box, Sniper, HMG, Hacker, and Spec-Op Kaplan, Combi, ADHL, Spitfire, Sniper Zhencha SMG/DEP
Hmmm...they are all just okay. Nothing wrong with them, but nothing special. I prefer my converted Zhencha to this version (the DEP kind of ruins it for me). The Namur pose and paint job are pretty dull. Kaplans are probably the highlight.
I think It's a great month of releases, most of them are very nice and not a single average mini. The shasvastii spec ops is my favourite. Extremely menacing...love it.
That is what I like about the model, he looks like the only specialist in the midfield on turn 3: "Looks like I have to do everything..."
Credit where credit's due, the Nox box is 100% perfection. If the Securitate box had been done this way? I doubt we would have seen the grousing about the Grenzer.
The Kaplan renders looked okay, but I think the paint really helped them here, they look really good. I like the Zhencha a lot, even with the DEP. Nox Box is good, the spec op is v cool.
