Hello everybody. Currently there's two of us here in Oman interested in getting into Infinity, we've picked up a couple of the two player starter boxes and had a few quick games. However we've put the game on hold for the moment upon learning of the upcoming N4. So for the time being I'm mostly just going to be lurking around the forums and trying to resist the urge to buy cool-looking models that I don't know if I'll actually use in N4... like those awesome Azra'il models I've already picked up but am now hearing are being dropped soon...

Salam alaikum! Welcome aboard! I would recommend still learning the base mechanics, those will stay the same and if you start now, you'll have a solid understanding of the game by the time N4 drops.

Alaikum al salam, thanks for the advice! I'm a bit worried that having an old set of rules in my head might make it harder to grasp the new ones though; trying to pick up 40K 8th ed I keep thinking back to old 5th ed rules, and I still sometimes forget if a Warmachine rule in my head is the MkIII or the old MkII version of the rule.

Still, I think I get the very basics reasonably well; the movement and basic combat resolution at least.
