One portion of the game that has always bugged me was how easy it is to possess TAGs but then why can't hackers take over remotes and do things with them. Taking a remote control style limited use possession on remotes would give pause a little more to the current glut of Assisted Fire Remotes and such.

I am afraid that, if hacking becomes really impactfull and usefull, other factions will get new toys and become better than us at hacking (as happened at mobility from n1 to n2, or as specialists numbers from n2 to n3, or as non-lethal weaponry from before and after O12). Give time to CB

Depends very much on how they do it.

I'd be surprised if anyone gets nearly the coverage Nomads gets relatively trivially.

    But we'll see.

the nomad hacking is just a tiny bit better than most factions (we have only one hacker with a bit of better profile than others, thank to the BTS). What we have better are only the repeater number, because the programs (what in the end is what really is hacking) are almost all of them out there (only white noise and some upgrades are the not so extended ones)

The three things are the quality of the hacker, and the ability to get the hacking area over the enemy, but also how easy it is to fit the hacking devices in the list. The second two are where nomads dominate. Any time you're comparing an Asura hacker for example, you are only considering the first one.

In 2020 it's not that our hacking is particularly good, but goddamn is it cheap. Other factions can't get hacking value like this:

The Danavas is comparable but that's about it.

It's there abouts in efficiency and has some advantages over the Nomad version.

The reason Nomads do so well at Hacking is because our Hacking hits all three of the things @loricus mentions, it's: very accessible, has good coverage and is relatively strong.

Haqq is actually pretty good at my favorite way to hack: low cost and decent coverage to create annoying zones. It's the same idea as putting down low cost AROs like a Jaguar Faust, you add steps needed to get free movement.

I use the Wildcat AHD in the Haris sometimes but that new Correg hero is a great great new option for me.

The fact she takes up a brigada slot make it feel nearly free.

Morans are IMO the number one reason Nomad hacking is so nasty. Not just repeaters, but repeaters that are damned hard to avoid or remove. That and getting affordable HD+ alongside cheapo hacker infiltrators.

Resurrecting a dormant thread, I know. I think it should be stressed just how important it is that the amazing Mobile Brigada sculpts become a profile we want to play.

If they're 6-2 that's going to be a pretty hefty swing in their favour, but the same applies to all HI as far as we know.

Beeing the only HI in CJC makes that 6-2 move an interesting stand-out feature.

I too would love to finally see the amazing Mobile Brigada live up to it's fluff and aesthetic.

6-2 still leaves the fundamental problem of either not being in a fireteam or using up your core but not using 5 members. It speeds them up but they aren't being used for that anyways, they need a slight redesign to make use of the 6-2.
If fireteam bonuses are reduced 3-troop cores may become more common however.
Better options for profiles may make them more useful solo, such as a more capable specialist. A duo option (not with Gecko) would have potential but would still require a more useful specialist.

I would like to see some of the profiles be usable as stand alone pieces. I'm not much of a sectorial player, and my brigada is so over shadowed by other models who bring much more bang for the same points.

MB, MB Duo would be good. HMG, BSG HD with Tinbot for 85pts/2.5SWC would be a good start.

6-2 has some nice synergies if the Tsyklon counts as MB stays. Particularly since the Code One Quick Start Cover rules are a MASSIVE buff for S4 models if they remain for N4.

If we see the profiles consolidated into more well rounded options there might be options other options.

I still think that a CJC Boarding Party Fireteam of Wildcats, MB and Tsyklons should be the centrepiece Fireteam of Corregidor. Nothing I'm seeing teased so far changes that POV.

I agree, and being 6-2 helps a lot with that. Unfortunately all his competition is getting it too, unless the S5 HI are staying 4-4. As is it's hard to justify not going Kriza, and even if for some reason you didn't want that, not going Taskmaster. Hackers being more useful and less vulnerable could give them a niche.

I'd be surprised if Kriza and TMs are staying as 4-4. TMs in particular become VERY fast with Active turn Dodge movement and Dodge +2".

The interesting ones will be Grrls and Hollowmen. Neither need anything: Superjump and Dodge+3 mean both will continue to feel more mobile than Mobile Brigada.

I was mostly thinking HMG but yeah, most any other profile will still have hard comparisons. I just don't see it happening for Vanilla unless something really changes.

Doesn't help that Hollow Men have a massively better designed hacker for some reason. If Brigada Hacker got their LFT and Tinbot B, AND regular hacking device was better and/or cheaper, it could become a single useful profile (at a price hike).

They could become more useful solo in Correg thou.
