I'm brand new to Infinity and really just getting into it - though went a bit nuts with my purchases - and was wondering if CB has released their "fluff" books in digital format yet? I looked, but couldn't find anything. While I do like a good physical copy now and then, I buy most of my books in digital format for space reasons and I was surprised to see that these other books aren't available. The core rule book is available as an e-book (and free, which is amazing) but what about the other supplements like Daedalus' Fall, etc? I'm very impressed by CB's army builder, the free rules and other content (tokens, etc), and overall general organization of things but I'm a little surprised CB hasn't embraced ebooks yet. It'd be fantastic if they consider this going forward when they release N4 and corresponding supplements.
as far as i've been aware from N1 to N3 the fluff sections have always been hard copies. although the RPG books can be bought legit in digital pdf format from drivethroughrpg
CB has opted for the rules free method meaning if you want the fluff you'll have to buy the physical books. The business practice they've had for a very long time. Don't know if they keep the full books from being ebooks/pdf for pirating reasons but it doesn't look like N4 will be any different. However, Infinity does have an RPG line where there's a lot of the same fluff ported over (not all but a good chunk): https://www.drivethrurpg.com/browse/pub/4329/Modiphius/subcategory/24125/INFINITY
Thanks for the info. The other reason I was looking for digital versions is that getting the physical books here can be challenging. My FLGS typically only carries the newest books, so being a new player, it’s a bit difficult to find older books ... and the two stores that carry Infinity generally don’t want to custom order products for us :( btw I just realized that this has been posted in News. Sorry, thought I posted it in the New User forum.
No worries, this is a pretty typical question for all new players! @psychoticstorm , you want to relocate this?
quick follow up to the main question, please is it worth looking for Human Sphere rule books, from previous editions, for some BG as well ? like the 2nd edition one and so on I was always curios about that, as I was looking forward some BG, but never sure if any of those would worth it.
Not really, even where things aren't strictly reprinted the newer books cover 99% of the old ones. The only real exception is probably the Exrah, who aren't in the new edition books (though the unit write-ups are on the Human Sphere wiki)
