My local Toronto meta runs a lot of great tournaments, but every so often I muse that it might be fun to travel to a higher-level tournament sometime if I can find the time. I would enjoy getting destroyed by some top players.

The problem is, I can't seem to figure out how to find tournaments, or to assess whether they're just local events vs. events that will draw strong players.

I think I can safely assume that Interplanetario is the highest tier, and the satellites are the second-highest. But how to find other high-tier tournaments? Tournaments that almost got selected as satellites? Some other criteria?

Every so often I read batreps that start out "I went to this tournament knowing I'd be outclassed by all the great players there." How do you know who will be at a tournament? I feel like there's some info source out there that I'm missing.

    Any suggestions?

    Social media.
Most of the infinity groups I'm aware of have a presence on the book of faces, or a forum, or something.

    I'd start there.

I don't think the tournaments are really tiered as such, skill level is determined as much by who goes than satellite status. You might go to a small tournament full of really skilled players and have a harder time than at a larger tournament elsewhere.

Most of the North America tournaments advertise on the WGC Infinity Facebook group. The "Biggest" tournament by player numbers is Rumble on Route 66, there's also generally tournaments at conventions like Adepticon, Nova, Gen Con, Las Vegas Open, etc.

I'm hoping to see some good challenge at Adepticon and Rumble. :)

Oh god, surely there must be a better info source than that absolute nightmare of a Facebook group :-(

But conventions is a great suggestions, thanks! I will try to find a list of them somewhere.
