I got my hands on a 1/35 scale model Japanese armored personnel carrier the other day, and my plan is to mod it to look like something PanO would use. I'm just stuck on what color scheme to use before I glue it together. Does anyone have any ideas for what a PanO ground vehicle should look like?

You can look at their TAGs for inspiration. They are the closest official thing to ground vehicles.

I picked up Marvel: Crisis Protocol over Xmas and in looking for terrain ideas I found there’s a LOT of toy Quinjets out there.

Two official versions (action figure scaled 3 3/4") to choose from, too - Avengers assemble and Winter Soldier versions with a number of differences between them.

The first has more detailing in the wings, the second has a drop down launch ramp for the captain Jingo motorcycle figure.
The second was also sold for a lower price.

I got a Quinjet (probably the first version mentioned by Chromedog), 18 EUR. A couple of pics showing the scale. It will make a nice dropship.

And here you have a blog commenting the toy with more pics.

My own impression: it will make a great dropship for Infinity. The cockpit looks scaled for two seats, the ship could transport about a dozen HI minis without problems and it even has a ramp in the rear to the cargo hold. Some parts of the toy are nicely detailed (wings, fuselage), while others (landing gear, the ramp) would need much more detail. Also, there are a lot of screws visible in the structure, so the holes should be filled and sanded. A gun/optics turret in the front could be a nice addition, but that is a desire, not a need. As it is, the toy can be almost directly used as centerpiece in a table.

    Enjoy!

Yeah, that's the first Avengers movie version (earlier of the two toys).
The Winter Soldier version ramp drops and opens towards the front, so as to better eject "Captain Jingo" on his murdercycle.

Either makes a pretty impressive 28mm dropship. Cockpits are easily able to handle a 2-seat wide control setup - or even a 1+1 tandem with an accessway down one side. (if you ever want to do the extra detailing.

If you can find one, there is also a gunship toy for GI Joe:Rise of Cobra in the same scale.
With a canopy paint, it also makes a serviceable dropship for 28mm.

Yes, I have already seen this conversion in Pinterest. Linked to the old forums, unfortunately. Out of curiosity, I tried to find one of these gunships on second hand sites, but so far, available only through eBay and in the US.

For those interested in seeing how much this gunship can improve with just a good painting work, take a look here:

But at least, can you see the pin in Pinterest? The picture? The link does not work for me also... the pin is linked to the old forums and that does not exist anymore...

What people see is obviously mediated by their own experiences... :slightly_smiling_face:

Let's try again with this address and this one.

And by the way, I do suspect that a member of this forum is the original author of the modification. Would be nice if he/she can share some more pics.

Yes, this time it opened. And from the info on the pin i got the original now defunct thread, which thankfully was archived by somebody on the Internet Archive. It's mostly broken, but the pics are there. And now i remember it, it was a gorgeous board.

    Maybe.

Airwolf has dark upper surfaces with a white belly.

Bell H222 is a beauty by itself and it went gorgeous once you add some missiles and machine guns to it.

    Found this on Zen Terrain.
It's a bit blocky bit I like the overall design!
