You know, I really like O-12 miniatures, all of them! And I was exited more and more with new renders from Defiance .
But... That Alpha makes me cry. That's so awesome model on the table and I was wondering "what beast-guardian there will be? Perhaps that would be somethig awesome!". And now we recieved this.
I don't have much complains about men, he's fine. Not great but fine.
But what the heck is with robot?? What a terrible droid? Why it looks like junk or hanger for coats armed with a poker? O-12 abruptly loose all their nice and fancy droids like Beta, Dakini or at least sirius bot? That thing looks like very cheap and unfinished version of Dakini bot. Why Dakinis' arms are nice and Alpha bots' arms are like this? Why Corvus Belli?
Why not a cool beast like Andromedas' or Col. Voronins'? There's two models of S2, not S4. Or S2+S2 = S4?

I will definitely change this piece of garbage for Andromrdas' beast or for Dakini with conversion.

By the way - Is it only my vision or paint job on new models are pretty sloppy, especially faces? That's not Angel's work.

 

I made a comparison of dakini and alpha-bot. They're almost the same, but Dakini looks so stylishly and Alpha-bot so lame, thanks for his arms and pose.

 

To me it looks like Alpha-bot is about an Mk. 3 while the Dakinis are more like an Mk. 5 of the same model. Maybe ALEPH has made some improvements after giving O-12 last year's model?

Note: actual Mk #s pulled out of my butt...

 

More likely they're competing models from different Hypercorps. Ones a Mototronica personal security droid whereas the other is a Siemens-Mercedes Kali class light armature.

Gonna replace the arms on that Alpha probably. Thinking the TJC starter Hollow Man arms, swap the gun with the shotgun, but keep the sweet knife.

Other than that looks awesome though. Love the actual commander dude.

A PanO v YJ box would lead me to expect Svalarheima v White Banner sectorials.

 

I suppose it'd be too much to hope that the PanO vs. YuJing would be fishpeople vs. whatever. {:=

Neoterra would be my guess. I think too much of CB's sales come from Knights in Speeehs! for them to be put on hiatus.
