The really cheesy answer is that they didn't want to include Fireteam rules in the core N3 book. I think it's mostly that they wanted to include Tohaa units in Combined (and Onyx) while still making them play like Combined, rather than like Tohaa. I would also point out that the Maakrep can't form fireteams at all in Onyx, while most equivalent MSV MI can form a core in their home sectorial. Tohaa units in CA: Fraacta - is a drop troop, not going to be linkable anywhere Greif - shared with Tohaa and Spiral, not linkable anywhere Maakrep - kind of like a Gao-Rael, but isn't linkable (even in sectorial play) I just don't feel like it's a lot to go on.
Agreed, that's not enough units to know if the Sygmaa still Triad or not. I suspect we'd need to see a Sygmaa sectorial army list first.
Here's a question about the January releases, Mendoza sacred flame. Think that's going to be a skin? "Sacred flame of god," doesn't hit me as that radical of a skin design for him. I guess there being no army is a giveaway though. I guess I wrote this because I'm sort of hoping he'd follow bill, luna and the soldiers of fortune into infinity. It's a shame as I feel while he may be a bit eccentric, I think he'd be a wonderful centerpiece miniature for a MO force.
We might get lucky with a red fury Haidao. Probably won’t. It’s been a long time since every release in a month is for my army. Ouch.
I can't remember the book I was reading I think it was one of the RPG books, it talked about them becoming more independent and social. Leaving the old ways of the oppressors behind.
Definitely not more independent. In fact, the RPG says things actually barely changed, beside the switch to a EI cube. They recent their old government for lying about how the CA is a terrible menace and they see them as controling and corrupt. What we don't know is if there's a lot of EI propaganda, but that's probable. We could even consider mind control being a thing.
Do we have a KHD model yet? I feel like it's going to get more work in IA given their widespread vulnerability to hacking.
Mary Problems somehow manages to be less interesting than a guy with a beard standing still with binoculars and a robot.
I have to put Dire Foes 9 and Mary Problems on my shopping list as Lupe Balboa and Valerya Gromoz Proxies. :) I really like the sculpts. And perhaps that Alpha Unit as a Base for conversions, too
Christ on a pogostick. Worst month ever? That Alpha with his binoculars and cap with his name on is laughable. Mary’s cyberlegs are stiffer than two wooden planks. Dire fors severly uninspired. Seed soldier is a missed opportunity for something that’s supposed to be hatched from an egg.... Surely I’m not the only one?!
I find it delightfully absurd that the guard skill of the Alpha, which only affects close combat, is being represented by a robot with a shotgun.
The robot does also have the second LSG and nanopulser. Would still have and more sense as a G: Sync IMO.
Alpha looks like typical commanding officer from police in movies. Nothing more, nothing less. Mary is way too static I agree that something is wrong with this paintjobs
Gotta agree, I was so looking forward for dire foes and Mary (Tunguska is my main army). The releases are one of the worst in a long time. Mary has the stiffest pose possible and the paint job on the seed is pretty terrible, It doesn't do justice to the mini. The drop from Angel is huge... I guess they burned out from kickstater...
Haidao Hacker is the must buy for me this month - cool, solid, useful! The DF Box looks good to me. Especialy the Securiate with a hue of Gestapo. The Fusilier look a bit like a Regular, but why a Fusi again? At least he has a MksmRifle an some spare ammo. The HVT looks very nice too, and yes I know this depents a lot on the paintjob. The Seed Soldier is already known from Defiance. But why a combi in a blister? Why not a box? Mary has Problems. First, she not look like a Über-Hacker (okay same with Uhahu but...). I mean - a character, that should be the best hacker in the game, is NOT hacking and instead looks on her pistol-collection? Second: What about her legs. Looks like boots, but is painted in skin tone. Strange. The Alpha. Hmm. Now we have Diorama-Units? I know Andromeda and the TAK Lt. had both a beast, that boos their CC abilities, but a small robot? The are just two S2 on a big base. Nothing that justifies a S4. And the Alpha himself, look more like a worker rather than a soldier or even a tactical specialist. So a "no" here. Not to get me wrong, the minis for theirselfs are good, but they are not what they are suppose to be. €dith: For me the paintjobs are all fine - even the seed one. Maybe not be Mr. Angel himself, but especialy the DF9 looks very nice!
