I really want Joan too, but shipping that is more than 150% of the price of the thing to ship is rough.
I ended up ordering the Icestorm bundle from miniature market and will try and resell everything but Joan.
Rough is €44 shipping for the €14.95 mini to Australia. This is a 5-fold increase on the last time I ordered a single mini from CB direct.
Is there any particular reason this jumped so much? Is it just merely location or crazy shipping prices for everyone?
Awesome! Spanish Post is pretty expensive, not to mention that Americans have been really spoiled by USPS and flat-rate prices. Americans pay less in postage than pretty much everyone else on the planet.
about 4 weeks ago I ordered a single miniature from someone in Spain off of eBay and shipping was only ~7 dollars. I understand CB is a business and is probably subject to different tax/shipping costs but still. 23 euros for shipping seems exorbitant
Spanish Couriers. Post is pretty similar to other "1st world" countries (a bit pricey for local "conditions", the other day I checked Germany and prices where similar, yet income is higher there). BF or Dreamforge plastics liquidation are showing the horror stories of shipping from USA to other places, making offers pointless. Now, China abusing old treaties... that is cheap shipping, and everyone else pays for it. Counter example. That probably was Spanish Post (Correos) letter / small packet (under 2 Kg). They have more options to get a better deal, so the other way around. They could even remove VAT and make things a bit cheaper too (a discount of 17.35% on miniatures, 3.85% on books, but adding the legal paperwork, which seeing how things roll, is probably killing country export competitiveness). Hasslefree seems to be capable of handling that... but they are UK based.
I wanted Joan too, but the shipping was way too much! A single mini was gonna cost me about $65 AUD. Stupid price for one mini imho. CB need to find better rates for international buyers.
I know its comparing apples to oranges, but I've ordered single minis and small pack from all over europe and its only cost around €6 Euros.
