looking at the army builder alot of aleph heroes have fireteam listings in a vanilla aleph list. i thought only sectorials had FTOs. so are they valid or bug?
I think they have Skill but to create a Fireteam is mandatory to have a Sectorial List. http://infinitythewiki.com/en/Common_Requirements
Forming a Fireteam has one general requirement: Permission from your army list to form that Fireteam. Some types of Fireteams have other requirements, Haris, Enormoustacos, and Duo need at least one member with the skill in question. Triad needs everyone to have the skill. Triads have special permission to be used in Vanilla, Duos can also circumvent the Army List restriction by having an EVO run Teampro. So even though Hector's troop profile has the Enormoustacos skill, he only has permission to form Enormoustacos Fireteams when used as part of the Steel Phallus.
A quick note on that. They only circumnavigate part of the restriction. No special Duos (Achilles + Pat for example) in vanilla as there is no Fireteam list to pull a special construction from. You can Duo Yadu with TeamPro in Vanilla.
FYI Not strictly true any more. A few of the new special triads do not include the Triad skill on all members.
Pretty sure those are all ones that are granted by the Army list for Spiral Corps. In Vanilla Tohaa you still have the restriction due to lacking a Sectorial Army LIst.. "To use this rule, a player must field a Sectorial Army List, an Army List that specifies that Fireteams are available, or have a Special Skill, piece of Equipment or Hacking Program that allows its use."
Just double checked. Reex and Krigel are still allowed in Vanilla tohaa it seems. Edit: To Clarify Reex are both lacking Fireteam Triad and listed on the special fireteam list for Tohaa as well as Spiral. I acknowledge that this is a pedantic difference.
Yes, this is why the special fireteam triads bother me. Some require Fireteam Triad some dont. But they all use a Triad nomenclature.
Tohaa apparently has a Special Fireteams listed for the Vanilla army. As does Yu JIng. Good to know as I just had a box of Tohaa stuff delivered to me ;) The rule I quoted above is what allows the special teams to break the normal Triad rule
