In the classic PanO fashion, she's shooty, solid, dependable, but not very exciting ;)

Decent linkable version for any fireteam that will fight in CQB, solo camo without any forward deployment but with good vertical mobility... might be pretty decent on tables with multiple levels. Infiltrators start the game up field, but usually sport less firepower. Breaker Combi gives her some reach, while 2xSMG and Camo will be deadly up close. Me (cautiously) likes.

One thing to note, if current ITS trends continue, she will technically have FD lvl 1 for being MI, which could help her hide among other camo markers like the ZC in Vanilla!

Not bad for an MI. A bit pricy. Quiang Gao is 46 pts with no CH: something but an HMG. Like him, she is something, that you not have before in this combo, but you´ll not realy need either. If she is a wildcard I see her in a fireteam. Edit: But with the current deployment rules for MI and the Aleph-like movement, the camo version can reach her first target quickly.

One reason I love Shock Army is the three dimensionality that Dart adds. PanO isn't great at going after things on rooftops... No smoke to help PanO units get up there, not much disposable Dogged to tank the hit of the rooftop defender and then CC or Chain Rifle it to death. Uma helps fix that gap.

That cost is rough though. The double SMGs, Breaker, ARM and BTS all add up quickly.

I would like her more if she didnt cost as much as an HI. It's a hard sell at 37 points when shes going to be competing with Zulus and Crocs.

We don't have an official answer yet, but my theory is that she will be used in Svalarheima when it eventually comes out.

Oh man... I want to like her. FTO option isn't tickling me very much – just because it's sort of redundant and is in a weird spot for a Fireteam.

I like the Camo option – but at 37 points that really hurts.... why 2 SMGs AND a breaker combi? :(

Having AP, Shock, and Breaker gives something for everyone.

Having a proper gun in addition to the SMGs is also really nice for keeping her out of DTW ranges.

I'm not saying a breaker combi is a bad weapon – just a little bit of a let down when paired with 2 SMGs. While I doubt she pays the full points for it, I would still prefer to have one or the other.

She is overcost for what she provides. I doubt you'll see her in linked teams (shes similar in cost to an Orc but with 1 W only) and shes just overpriced as a camo unit. Climbing plus on a 1W camo unit is not worth 37 points.

Edit: the more I think about Uma, the more disappointed I am about her. I can't think of any link team she would be good in without needlessly making the link more expensive. For 34 points, Dart is vastly superior.

@archon said it best. She gives us something we have not had before but nothing we need. She is Bipandra bad. Uma is overcost for what she does and what she does is not anything Pano needs.

“There’s no bond stronger than that of blood,” Uma Sørensen’s father always said. Family and blood were paramount to Peer Sørensen; he wasn’t the leader of a NKAH cell (Nordiske Krigere ave Heimdall, or Nordic Warriors of Heimdall, a radical ultra-nationalist group from Svalarheima that defends PanOceania’s moral and racial superiority) for nothing. Uma and her little sister Tara were raised hearing those ideas, repeated ad nauseam both in their home and in the paramilitary encampments the group has on the frozen plains of Trollhättan, where their members prepare to defend their ideology through force of arms if needs be. They both spent more time in those camps than they would have liked, getting ready for a supposed confrontation against the whole Human Sphere that their father thought inevitable. And, though they always hated it, both the ideas and the Spartan and combative regime they were subjected to ended up making the words “the apple doesn't fall far from the tree” true. Thus, as soon as they were old enough to leave their father’s home, they both enlisted in the army, for fighting was what their father had taught them, and fighting is what they did best.

Yet while Tara wanted to get as far away as possible from her past, enrolling in the Navy and leaving the planet, her sister preferred to take advantage of the knowledge gained in those encampments. Uma enlisted in Svalarheima’s Winter Force, where the experience acquired on the frozen plains of Trollhättan catapulted her to the Svalarheiman Nisse regiment. There she would serve with distinction for many years until she was recruited by the Indigo units of the PanOceanian Special Operations Command. This assignment took her away from her planet and her past to perform missions all across the Sphere. Nonetheless, when it seemed that Uma had finally found her place, fate would shake her entire world.

During a patrol mission during the Intermediate Blockade of Paradiso, the POS Obsidian Spear of Taema, a frigate on which her sister served, was attacked and boarded by the Combined Army. Though the attack was repelled, the crew suffered many casualties and due to the extreme violence of the assault many crewmen were missing in action. Among them was artillery non-commissioned officer Tara Sørensen, whose body was never found.

This terrible news made Uma re-evaluate her career. Vengeance became the new driving force in her life, and—together with discovering her sister’s fate—the destruction of the Combined Army her main goal. To do so, Uma requested to be transferred to the Strategic Security Division, where she would serve together with the infamous Hexas as attached Indigo officer, in hopes of gaining more information on Tara’s whereabouts if she was alive, or at least of getting the chance to hit the Combined Army as hard as possible if she wasn’t.

Focused on this personal mission, Uma has become an officer as efficient as she is obsessive, always volunteering for any operation that can get her closer to her particular goals. The thing is that, although she doesn’t want to admit it, her father was right: blood bonds are the strongest and ones that Captain Uma Sørensen cannot escape. It is blood that binds her to her sister, and it is blood that this officer wants from the Combined Army."

She was part of the Nisse regiment? Damn, I wish that meant she had a MSV2 or at least MSV1. That would make her worth her cost.

So I was going to say something about how the idea of panoceanian ethno-nationalism is kind of a dumb given how multi-ethnic and cosmopolitan panoceania is, but then I realised that "ethno-nationalist beliefs are extremely stupid" isn't exactly a hot take. Well played, CB.

Shamelessly sharing a stolen meme that sums her up to a T as far as the profile goes.

If Uma's somehow available in NCA she will be very, very welcome as far as I'm concerned. Having a meaningful option to boot people off rooftops would be fantastic, given at the moment the options consist of "Squalo HGL and Sensor net". Not going to lie though, I hoped they'd find something PanOceanian to showcase in Defiance other than the damned +1 BS; all the traditions of half the world combined with the scientific progress of a near-utopian future and the best PanO can send to save the galaxy from the Camo Tokens, uhh, Shasvastii is a Nisse without MSV?

Edit to avoid double post; one thing I really like here is that there's a LT version of the FTO profile. Finally, putting a special unit in a Fireteam doesn't immediately ruin its use in the LT shell game!

Like Op I "cautiously" like her. If she will be able to join some fireteams I totally see the FTO profiles as a short range gunfighter with that lovely 5 burst smgs. As a solo camo piece I'm not really sold on her...Maybe in Neoterra she can get a spot as in other sectorial and Vanilla that spot is taken by better profiles (Dart, Zulu). As a side note was really disappointed she has no visor...looking at the demo games she has some kind of visor :-/ Dart has msv1 and i cheaper ... meh
