Outcast looks like a paid expansion; if so, there's nowhere to make it to--just a matter of when they reveal it. :-) Besides, Kickstarters always slow down. Then bump up again as paid expansions are revealed. Nothing to worry about.
The FB post to reveal Uma's profile is already over 50 shares so we'll see her profile in the next update.
Is there anywhere on the kickstarter page a mention of when they plan to ship defiance out? It seems i'm unable to find that information and that is kind of important for me.
So, 350k, a head and another tinbot? The expansion is additional unknown cost, not included with the pledge? Weak af. Where are the actual stretch goal minis? At 500k?!
I have to confess that my own enthusiasm has been dulled somewhat by the lackluster stretch goals though I'm staying optimistic that they've got exciting material yet to be revealed. Still, the fact that the major reveals have been OCF cards designed to get you to buy repackaged minis and helper bot-related stuff has me scratching my head. Come on, CB, this is a miniatures game Kickstarter--let's see some new miniatures! EDIT: To be entirely fair, I think some of this can be chalked up to the fact that CB spoiled most of these minis weeks before the KS launched. The net result is that for those of us who've been paying close attention, there's been very little revealed today that's truly "new". Either way, value's still there in the collector/deluxe pledge in minis alone. :-)
Very true. I think it’s easy to lose sight of that fact. Going off the very rough shipping estimates, my Deluxe pledge is going to cost me around $9 a mini, even if I throw every other piece right into the trash.
And that's my thinking as well. I'm in this first and foremost for the Shas-army-in-a-box; if Defiance turns out to be a fun game to play with the wife, that's just gravy on top! But as I said, fingers remain crossed for more surprises.
But again, I have to stress, COMMUNICATION FAIL. Is this still a deal? Sure, but we were told to expect cool miniatures in goals, so where are they, Carlos? The cards, adpaters, turrets are exactly what I meant - chaff unworthy of being a stretch goal worth tens of thousands euros. Also, it's been 350k (365k now) for over an hour and stretches are stuck. Are they asleep there, losing momentum?
Tbh the profits on this probably won't be great, probably cover a few overheads or some expansion for the business, I doubt much more free minis will be chucked in and as pointed out already for an army in a box this has value with a game on top, super dungeon explore ledgends went nuclear on KS and they've practically folded delivering nothing, CB won't do the same so you'll get what you paid for, just not a whole bunch more by the looks of it unless you count added value in crossover content. Kudos to them for finding a way to sell stuff to a wider audience than that factions players.
For me that’s one of the pluses, this isn’t someone fly-by-night, but established, with minis (it appears) mostly ready to go.
It's impossible to calculate what the profit margin is on this without being on the inside. I suspect they'll do quite a bit better financially than other large miniature-based kickstarter-exclusive projects because (1) they cast metal in-house rather than plastic in China, and (2) they will be releasing many of these models (or alternate versions thereof) at retail, so the costs that went into developing those assets will be further offset. But again, impossible to tell, that's just me speculating!
360k goal is an Alternate Uma upper body, unhelmeted and wielding a brace of assault pistols. I'm guessing she gets a whole alternate torso due to her being 2 piece so they can't just swap a head.
I see 336k EUR right now.. are you talking USD or is something off? Also: I'm pretty sure CB will try to time miniature stretch goals so that there will be excitement later on in the campaign as well. No point in blowing out all surprises in one night..
Looking at the way Uma is assembled I think this is basically her second head option, with some bonus bits added to it :P
