Which is perfectly compatible with not being explicit about how they have to be printed ("yeah, print", vs "print this size, at least this resolution, at least this surface roughness, etc"). Or asking for them to be shipped (and then ship them back), or at least sending photos (faster... but still risky), for aproval. Don't trust, always verify.

Wrong-sized model? You mean the CAD-sculpted Domaru? Which were the first of the current size HI, but massively bigger than the hand-sculpted Domaru/Haramaki?

Are there any pictures showing a comparison between the two? I gave up on the Aristeia plastics after the core box.

No differences, no plastic, all in house produced metal, the collector's edition just has more.

I mean between the core set plastics and later ones. I've checked the unboxing videos but youtube's video quality always makes it hard to tell.

The story I heard was about a Haqq HI (putty sculpt), for which the author did not get the memo that it should be big.

I'm not at all likely to back the whole thing. Definitely going to go splitsies with a Shazvasti player for any Haqq add-ons though! I'll take a character Govad, Muyib or Muhktar, k thx bai.

The rifle/sword Janissary? That was from the 'true 28' era. Infinity minis have gone through 3 size sets. The first production minis were hand-sculpted to be somewhat heroic (about like Hasslefree, not like GW) 28-30mm. Then the second generation minis were hand-sculpted to be True 28mm (like Empress or Perry historical minis), best example of these are Wildcats and original JSA. The current generation is all CAD sculpted and is closer to 32mm.

The two original Janissaries scale up OK against the new CAD sculpts. The old Jan's HMG doesn't look like the new one, but that's fine. The CAD Jan HMG is a bit smaller than the box set, but within normal human variation. The Jan rifle/sword makes a good Ayyar once you sculpt a hooded cloak over the top.

Looked at some pictures and IIRC it was Azra'il (and someone says Bostria said it, so not alone thinking it was that one). New version was said to be "the right size now", with old being wrong (that is what I remember from the time the resculpt was launched... pretty same pose, but completly different size).

That one was also from the True 28 era, when Azra'il were still the same size(ish) as Janissaries. [ edit: Compare the old Azra'il to the Shang Ji, and Domaru/Haramaki. ]

The resculpt was the introduction of S5 heavy infantry.

Yes, but IIRC they had to go with S2 because the sculpt was wrong. Should the sculpt be the size they wanted (or scrap and redo, as some others companies would have done), it would have been S5 earlier.

Yeah, the True 28 era was N2, and Silhouette was a stat introduced with N3.

But different sizes was a thing... and a noisy one. Silhouette was a fix to LoF arguments (size, pose, etc).

The point is that Azra'il was supposed to be bigger, but it was not due to unaddressed errors in production process. Or addressed as "it compiles, shiiiiiiiiiiiip it" (common in programming, but spreading everywhere). Later Azra'il 2.0 was released as it should have been, bigger. We will see if we get AaaS, Azra'il as a Service (new name for rented Azra'il).

Not only the Kaauri, the Reex Escorts are also suposed to be S1 models, but they are nearly S2 sized.
But because they are Tohaa, no one cares.

I'm asking myself about shipping cost. I think they are pretty high cause much metal and from Spain is not cheap.....
