I recently took O-12 to the French Sattelite in Lyon and thought this is a good opportunity to share my impressions.

The event used Limited Insertion and the missions were Acquisition, Firefight, Frontlines, Supremacy and Supplies. I ran two very close variations of the same list idea in order to hopefully learn how to play that setup well and also to limited the amount of models I needed to prepare (will post pictures in a later post).

This was my list for all missions aside from Firefight:
This list worked quite well and I wouldn't change anything in hindsight.
The midfield group of Gangbusters and Team Sirius are very effective in Limited Insertion with all their glue and the specific load-outs seem like a good mix of weapon ranges, specialists and vulnerability to hacking.
The Gamma, Epsilon and Hippolyta are three excellent attack pieces that cover anything from hard targets in terms of wounds and ARM as well as visual mods well.
The Alpha LT and Lambda Doc were excellent support choices, I didn't go into LoL aside from one game that was lost before that anyways and I was able to heal important units without spending too many orders.
I'd be fine replacing the Razor FO with another unit, but it certainly had it's merits as an additional specialist in the midfield as well as attack piece.

My second list simply replaced Hippolyta and the Razor FO with Goldstein and a Lynx KHD just so that I can play that list in Firefight. I lost that mission, but more on that later on.

Game 1: Acquisition vs. JSA - won 10:1

My opponent played a list that looked more or less like this:
    Japanese Secessionist Army

I won the LT roll and chose deployment to force a difficult decision on my opponent. He opted to go first as I had hoped since this mission is so swingy on the last turn. Of course I deployed very cautiosly and e.g. kept some madtraps in my backline to protect my LT. His first turn was mainly Saito moving through my backline, successfully dodging the Madtraps, outmanouvering a Team Sirius and finally getting into CC with my Alpha LT on his last order. It was well-played by him and had a good chance of success, but thanks to Guard lvl4, the Alpha simply knocked Saito unconscious. This was lucky and not really deserved, but probably the game winning factor. In my turn, the Gamma managed to kill the O-Yoroi, the Keisotsu ML and I positioned in a way that my glue weapons were prepared to deal with his HI. I ended up gluing the Karakuri, get my Gamma (Datatracker) on the center console and win decisively.

Game 2: Firefight vs. Aleph - lost 0:10

My opponent, who later went on to win the sattelite, played something like this:
    ALEPH

Obviously, his list was well-equipped to deal with my glue thanks to so many expendable bots. According to me as well as my opponent, the game went quite well (despite the disastrous final result) and essentially came down to a small positioning mistake of mine and the Gamma loosing a shootout with Achilles. Had that shootout gone the other way, I'd have won the game easily. The only decision I regret is that I used Goldstein to try to take out as many orders as possible instead of trying to assassinate Achilles in CC. In the moment, I didn't want to do it since the dice would not have been in my favor, but the chances wouldn't have been too bad and winning that CC would have won me the game. I'll use the dice calculator some time later to review this more carefully..

Game 3: Frontlines vs. Varuna - won 8:2

My opponent played something like this:
    Varuna Immediate Reaction Division
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]10

He won the LT roll and chose deployment. I decided to go second for better scoring opportunities on the last turn and because I didn't expect Varuna to deliver a too devastating alpha strike. His first turn started with some piece trading on his first turn that left one of his Zulus, his Echo Bravo and Palbot dead/glued and my Razor and Gangbuster KHD dead. His linked Kamau Sniper controlled a considerable portion of the board, but I was able to run Hippolyta down one flank on my turn. When I had to throw and Eclipse smoke, a Zulu came out of Camo to try to Jammer me. He failed and Hippo killed him in CC and went on to kill the Buleteer as well. That was quite decisive as the Zulu was his LT. But he spend 4 command tokens on his second turn to move his link into the midfield and almost into my DZ. This was quite a good play as it meant that he stayed in the game despite his low order count. But still I had the upper hand in terms of order count and was able to choose the following engagements to my advantage. Having second turn than meant a decisive victory for me.

Game 4: Supremacy vs. Varuna - lost 3:6

My opponent (went on to finish 5th) played something like this:
    Supremacy
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

This game was amazingly tight and essentially came down to the last order. He fully understood that he couldn't use his Cutter too aggressively so we drawed on the quadrant domination for the first too turns. His victory came down to dominating in the last turn and secure HVT. My opponent and I talked later and looked at how the game might have went if I had decided for the second turn, reviewed individual decisions, but it was really minor. Also if my dice would have allowed I'd have scored two more points on a console and a classified so I think it's fair to say that this simply was a very tight game.

Game 5: Supplies vs. Shasvastii - won 7:0

My opponent told me before the game already that he wasn't too happy with his list. He played something like this:
    Shasvastii Expeditionary Force
    ──────────────────────────────────────────────────

    [IMG]10
SHESKIIN Lieutenant Red Fury, Pulzar, D-Charges / Pistol, DA CCW. (1 | 54)

We played on a really nicely made jungle table. While it looked awesome, playing on it was quite difficult, but I am happy that we still made it work in a friendly and cooperative manner. I won the LT roll and chose to go first, for first access to the supply boxes as well as fear of Speculos as well as not thinking that one table side was better than the other. Essentially this game came down to me using my expendable glue weapons very aggressively and his list not having fast and expendable troops to easily clear them out throughout the whole table. In the end, I managed to obtain only one box, but keep him from all other boxes and do a classified.

I'm out of time for tonight, but I'll come back to this thread with pics and maybe some more generalized thoughts on O-12 in Limited Insertion.

Nice and concise reports! I enjoyed this greatly :)

    Never tell you the odds?
Saito MA3 vs Alpha G4 is 51% vs 33% (your outcome was a 21% chance)
    Cuervo MA3 vs Achilles1 MA3 is 30% vs 48(36)%
Saito probably made the wrong choice spending so many orders hunting a decent melee fighter and personally I'd have attempted to aim him at the Gamma or even attempted to Surprise Attack Hippolyta for a 43% (2w) vs 19%. Meanwhile, Cuervo's chances versus Jerchilles doesn't look great, but certainly taking out the big J swings the game extremely against Aleph and losing Cuervo might've been acceptable.

Yes, Knauf is a Lynx Sniper (used as KHD in the tournament), the kitbash on the right with the BSG is the Razor FO, the Kappa Girl stands in as Lambda Doctor and another Kappa on Voronins Base stands in as Alpha.

I took both from a Posthuman box. The box actually has 3 SMGs, so I’ll want to use one for a Kappa Hacker later on. I also planned to convert a Team Sirius Hacker but then decided I won’t be able to make the pose work out.

Really cool conversions and paint jobs, and congrats for your 12th place as O-12!

Your lists are quite interesting, it's cool to read more about how O-12 is doing in tournaments (as I have a tournament next weekend with them too).

Hah... amusingly my non-Zeta LI list is almost identical, just sub the Razor for a Lynx specialist. Good to hear it worked so well :)

I like that metallic look without metallic paints.

Care to share how it was done? It looks so nice!

Thanks! The technique is called non-metallic metal (NMM). There are some great tutorials online, but the main idea is just to simulate the high contrast look of metal by painting reflections and shadows.
I usually just look at the box art to get a rough idea where highlights and shadows should go. Some areas are pretty straightforward like the kneecaps where the maximum highlight should meet the darkest tone at the center edge, but other spots are more difficult to figure out so its nice to follow what others have done.
In terms of paints, I use Scale75s NMM paint set (https://www.pk-pro.de/Scale75-NMM-Paint-Set-Gold-and-Copper-8x17mL_1), but other brands will have similar colors. Hope this helps a bit

Nice! I actually think I haven’t been that convinced of an Infinity army list in years in terms of being the perfect allrounder list (at least for LI). I’ll have a hard time finding an non-LI list that I’m similarly happy with

Just a quick update before I hopefully find the time to write a report: I also attended last weeks German Sattelite with O-12 and finished 7th / 50. 3 Majors, one draw and a 6:10 loss that came down to very few dice rolls. That feels like a very consistent result with the French Sattelite, maybe with a small improvement from having more experience playing O-12. I think that shows that O-12 is a really cool faction and even though it might be designed a bit as a beginner friendly army, it has the potential to win big events.
