Hey guys, I am newly back to Haqqislam. I started in ages ago with Hassassins and moved on a little but looking to come back to Haqq. My problem is, no idea where to start now. Is Vanilla the way to go? Are the sectorials? I guess my question is. What is everyone else having fun with out there and why?
It's an unusual question since fun is so subjective. Anyway, when it comes to more casual play, people play everything. HB and QK weren't really that deficient about two years ago when I started (arguably, HB was unimpressive, but there were more limited sectorials in the game), and they received small updates recently, mostly bringing their fireteams up to modern standards of being kitchen sinks of everything. RTF is a new thing, people seem to be diging it here. Vanilla received a decent buff because some units we've gotten with RTF release are nice, giving us some brute force we probably lacked. I have no idea what's going on with our tournament representation as of late.
I've been really enjoying vanilla. A little bit best-of-all-worlds plus some access to very nice mercenaries like the Libertos and Monstruckers.
Absolutely based on your taste, and if you like your army to be thematically linked. Sectorials can sometimes be nice to start in when you're just getting a feel for things because you have fewer options while also having the order efficiency fireteams bring. As an example, in Ramah you know: you have two choices of line infantry, but they differentiate by one having the specialists and utility (ghulams) and the other having the direct template weapons (naffatun) you get two elite, fireteam capable LI choices (Khawarj to join the ghulams, Mukhtar to join each other) You get a single AD trooper who also doubles as an infiltrator your HI options make sense intuitively, the Al Fasid works solo, while you bring Jans if you want to link I find sectorials help guide you into familiarity, its so much easier to work with that than to open a vanilla list when you dont know those pieces and start figuring out stuff like "do i want a line infantry LT? Saladin? where do the bikers come in? i have a million LI to choice from! i started with Ramah and moved to vanilla because personally i love the amount of options and flexibility and i don't enjoy playing fireteams. One game i was playing with Saladin and Al+Fiday combo, the next game on Looting&Sabotage i took Kasym Beg an the suicide bike squad to rush the objective. lots of fun list building opportunities.
they are all fun . Which models or profile do you like? Base it on that . I’ve been having fun building lists around the al fasid. Love the mini. Not the most optimized profile but in vanilla haqq , it can work. We have so many good choices to build a list around these days.. haqqislam is the best faction for people who like tinkering in army 6 ..
Hello, to me "hassasins" is the most fun faction I ever played in Infinity :D If you are planning to return and yours first steps in the game was "hassasin", so, "if you didn't leave the game because hassasin", come back with "hassasin". They aren't the bests or the easiers, but when you manages to play with them, you always have fun, no matter defeats of victories!!! :D Still Vainilla is too fun to play with a lot of options.
I think Haqq doesnt have any sectorial army that people would consider unfun or unplayable like in some other armies (alltough RTF is the least fun for me, but thats always subjective). Certain units dont see play outside of sectorials, or its quite rare. Also smaller choice pool helps with getting to know each unit. That being said, vanilla is the funniest option here for me, because it is hardest for the opponent to predict what is he gonna see on the table.
