I'm Yu Jing this campaign but plan on fielding a PanO army, is that allowed? I'd be using PanO models and going through infinity army maker as usual. I understand something like this has been talked about before but I'm having trouble finding it.
You can make a separate account on Warconsole to play PanO, but I'm pretty sure you can only play the army you're signed up for.
whups, I finally found the relevant thread where this was discussed in Kurage: I've got some fluff to explain why a handful of PanO's would throw-in with YJ and will be posting that when I've cobbled it together.
I've considered something similar. Infinity has very 'set' factions whereas other games find a lot more 'counts as'. Currently I'm painting up 4 factions the same as Ventura Corp, they'll share some minis as proxies also. Whether I'll actually report cross faction games is another matter as I'm not sure I want the aggro. But I'm certainly 'forging the narrative' with my armies. Have for a while and will continue to do so. Watch out for #VenturaCorp contracts.
I have an Imperial service scum and hired help list written to use when I get bored of playing CA for some cool narrative games using a sepsitorised/compromised Hsien (he's painted evil purple and everything). Rule of cool, if you can fluff justify it I can't see there being a problem. you could justify it as a black op using Pano equipment or luring pano into reacting to something they shouldn't for your factions benefit
@Hoffbauer I think you've dug up all the supporting documentation, and encouragement from others, that you should need... but as someone who has been encouraging you from early on IRL, if you run into anyone giving you trouble over it, drop my name so I can file their complaints where they belong: with the StateEmpire Ministry of Information and Yanjing ^_^.
I see no problem with this, if for no other reason, because you actually are forging a narrative to explain it. I play Qapu Khalqi, but my army is a small Mercenary Company. If I hadn't found the amazing group of players that are the Haqqislam Community, I would have done exactly the same and send my Sand Cats wherever I fancied, and explaining that they are a Mercenary force hired by the selected Faction.
Nailed it! I strongly believe NA2 should be encouraged to work this way. The only problem is the JSA which, like the Tohaa, is more a Faction than a Mercenary Company,
NA2 and O-12 are pretty sizable narrative speedbumps IMO. It's hard to see how 7 separate PMCs and 1 fledgling nation working towards 8 separate goals could ever be covered in any acceptable fashion. O12 is supposed to be a peace keeping force, so having them in the same fight with the same rules as everyone else is odd to say the least.
This ruling at first had me a bit aggravated but now that I had time to digest I am very excited. A few of us in our local meta are looking to convert Sepsitorized/Combined Army Aligned human sphere armies to play with for combined next year, and I am so stupid excited to start converting and painting!
Yeah I was thinking about building Shasvastii/ EI biotech versions of mercenary profiles, like the alien suit from Independence day with a sepsistorised science guy as scarface and Cordillera...
The correct answer is 8. The original 4, plus the 4 remakes in the last 175 years. ...that's something else McPopson can add to his character's interests. Horror movies!!
