    All,

I think it would be a great idea to post on why you like Haqqislam Faction? What do you like about your the fluff, mechanics, options, troops? If we can, lets keep it positive.

For me, I love the idea of The Search for Knowledge and the idea of exploration (internal and external) in relation to religion. That the strength of our belief/conviction (represented with high WIP) is consistent throughout the army. I love all the options and the focus on cunning to solve problems versus brute force. I love the built in expectation of needing to sacrifice your troops with asymmetrical trades to accomplish the Mission. I like how our doctors are awesome and plentiful. It feels characterful. I love the contradiction of our expansive use of holo technology and simple, effective weapons like the rifle+light shotgun.

And I love the Dune-like feel.

    What do you guys like?

When Gravity Fails meets Parafaith War.

I've never understood the Dune fascination.

"The Spice must flow" feels so similar to "The Silk must flow" :slightly_smiling_face:. Plus super cool assassins like the Fiday.

i like the interesting combination of a faction that isn't the most cutting edge, combined with the fact they do have some exceptionally cutting edge medical technology. So what you get is a faction that is the underdogs technologically, and they know it. they field their best jammers and hackers to cause communication failures and disrupt the kind of powered armor suits haqqislam only has a short supply of. they are armed with standard rifles, shotguns, and trickery instead of modern combis or advanced MULTI tech.

then you do get some really awesome tech that Haqqislam is a pioneer in, and its quite exotic. Viral is actually one of the rarest ammo types outside of like, plasma. PanO doesnt have it, YJ has one model with it, Ariadna has it on one trooper, nomads have it on a single CCW, CA doesnt have it (ive been ignoring aida so far and will continue to because shes a merc), ALEPH has it on a single model, O-12 doesnt have it.

the only other faction with widespread viral access is Tohaa, and when your signature ammo type is that rare, and also quite powerful, you really get to feel like your army is dripping with flavour. Especially when you can combine other aspects, like the super soldier program. the Mukhtar viral rifle is a combination of everything cutting edge Haqqislam does, and is an awesome piece.

Also being one of the only two factions with impersonators is awesome

I'd always made the assumption that the terraforming of Bourak ate the lion's share of their income. They _will_ be rich. A couple of centuries from now. See: Parafaith War.

For my is a combination of interesting aesthetic and lore, really cool and impressive miniatures, and it non conventional rules and weapons, they are truly the most unique human faction.

Also they are the good guys of the game (even counting the Hassasim). Prove me I´m wrong XD

Yeah, we're definitely the good guys!
And we have Fidays to silence the dumb ones stating the opposite ;)

And I'm a pure Haqqislam fanboy - I felt in love with the miniatures few long years ago, and then just went into the world of Bourak and it's great. Now I know I made the best choice.
We have the best minis, characterful and beautiful, like Saladin, Kasym, Khawarijs, or even the common line infantry like Naffatuns or Ghulams.
We have the great fluff with our Search for Knowledge.
And we have the best playstyle, while not having the best stats on our unit. The combos of units, the cooperation of Saladin with his Fidays, Kasym with Djanbazan or Mukhtar, our doctors, our flamers and jammers... We need to use a good tactic to win and it's great. We don't have many simple solutions (like "just use Kriza" :P) but that's what make the army so interesting.

I came in with the new aesthetics of the Azra'il and new Maggy, I stayed because the lore and fun mechanics of the faction. Haqqislam is the technological Ariadna. You have most of the fun mechanics, but also can dip your toes into the tech as well. Hackers, Jammers, MSV2 units, super soldiers, and interesting HI.

Also yes, we can deffinitly be seen as the gooder guys. :)

What is outstanding for me is the potential of psychological terror you can field. The combination of Fidays, different Holo 1 and 2 troopers and some fanatic overequipped Ghazis...Just great! And then there are these characterful models all over the faction, especially when it comes to the backbone of Haqqislams trade: QK! And when you don't need heroes or some spiritual help, there are some pirats available to do the dirty stuff.

A distinct aesthetic and interesting lore coupled with a wide range of mechanics and tools to employ:

    - cheapish yet capable irregular troops for guerilla type warfare (Hunzakuts, Daylami, Ghazi, Kums, Bashi Bazouk)
    - very capable specialists throughout due to superior WIP
    - reliable doctoring on many units and loadouts
    - mostly reliant on LI that comes in all flavours and usually punches well above its weight
    - Solid LT choices that cover many different approaches backed up by a great CoC (Farzan)
    - Good access to Viral ammunition
    - Fiday

They also managed to convincingly translate their whole "Enlightenment through knowledge" theme into gameplay with the bonus to WIP, which actually helps for many interactions in the game (contrary to Yu Jing's CC bonus).

Also, I count some of their sculpts to be among my absolute favourites: Ayyar with pistols, the squatting Hunzakuts, the new Doc+ Ghulam from the support pack and good ol' Tarik going for a merry hike atop a pile of enemy corpses (the Spitfire pose is meh and new rifles are disgusting ...)

Lore-wise, it's because of Kaplans really. I also like the idea of QK having to host Kaplans along with scum like Druze or Yuan Yuans. It gives off an impression of a true mercenary faction that isn't exactly bound by strict ethics.

    - Also, so far the Kaplans showed themselves as excellent models – both in a link and as lone operatives
    - Hafzas are absolute monsters in Core Fireteams
    - The superior WIP thing is a duh at this point

In addition to that, the aesthetics of their miniatures does not seem to be way too Islamic, safe for Khawarijs, Tuaregs and the likes. Their looks generally don't fall into any stereotypical category, and that's what I like about them.

I see I'm not the only one who doesn't dig Third Offensive too well :P

Tohaa and Spiral do have impersonators now as well, and as someone who mostly had only CA and Tohaa around to play against, I wouldn't even notice the difference between their Inferior Imp and our Imp.

Odd question: Should Kiiutan imposters be able to have assigned Symbiomates while in an impersonation state? Just from a lore perspective, their disguise probably wouldn't be very effective when they're being followed everywhere by their little goat-legged porgs.

That's why the Symbiothing rules were updated so that they can't be assigned to Impersonators.
