My Operation Wildfire has arrived and I am about to start assembling / painting... I am going to try the GW contrast paints in a Blue and Yellow combination for the 0-12 and going with a black/purple for Shas.... I did all my own bases for my TAK (My first ond only faction so far) but would like to try something suitably futuristic and cool looking for both the 0-12 and Shas, any suggestion of suitable bases? Thanks in advance Martin
I was thinking about Precinct Sigma from MicroArt for my O-12. https://shop.microartstudio.com/en/275-precinct-sigma
https://warsen.al/collections/bases Arsenal has some neat bases that come in packs that are designed for infinity. There's suitably futuristic city themed bases as well as some alien world ones if you want to bring the fight to Paradiso or something like that.
That's too bad – if its a flat rate and depending on your budget, you could always bulk order bases, terrain, a shirt, ect. ect. to make it feel more worth it. Those Daedalus ones are obviously very fitting and very cool. Personally I use the Harbinger from them on my O-12
The basing issue gives me headaches for days now. At first I thought about warehouse bases from Mas (I like them on my ISS very much) but then I was concerned about the "advanced" level of tactical rocks on the current models. I think those models would look awkward on urban themed bases. Maybe I go for classical self made bases with different sizes of sand an little rocks this time.
Finally, I decided to go for the self made bases: I think i will use a dark brown / grey pattern with some tan drybrush finish.
How much plasticard and extra GW bits do you have? Bits of old wire also work well. Depends on the look I suppose. :)
I'm going the logo way, however this time.not with printed logos but with laser cut ones. This wip shows what I mean.
TBH having looked around I might just wimp out and go with the Necromunda bases. They look reasonable and come in the right sizes :) Here and Here Super shiny clean and painted for 0-12 Rusty and dirty for Shas
The problem with GW bases is that GW doesn't use 55mm sizes, they use 50mm and 60mm, so S4 and S7 units will be hard to harmonize with the smaller ones. Personally I'm going to put mine on Dovige Scenery Binnaris bases because I'm lazy. Which means I'll also need to cut a metal sheet to fit between layers so I can properly make use of magnetised bases, so there's a bit of extra challenge left when you don't have access to an actual workshop, even though I bought it pre-painted.
OOooooooooooooo Those look very nice, I haven't seen those one before. Pre painted takes a lot of the pain away....
