    Problem with protesting is:
You do it in non-busy streets: No one cares, No one notices
You do it on busy roads: People are annoyed, some people will take offense

Protesting is always about getting the attention of others by inconvenience.

I agree that the environment is getting fucked harder than the average porn star and the situation is dire, but after reading the concentrated stupidity mixed in ER's stated objectives I suddenly want to buy a brown shirt and an armband.

I have had several conversations with my more politically inclined friends over this, and they believe stopping traffic makes people "stop and consider how a minor disruption of their lives compares to the evils of the system they participate in"
I just laughed at that, they believe the average motorist is going to take a blockage as an opportunity for self-reflection rather than lean on their horns/curse them out/take to social media to complain
And in the end, what do the protesters gain? All they are doing is make people less likely to sympathize. I know plenty of people that have gone from "the XYZ movement makes some good points, I support them" to "I freaking hate these XYZ assholes!" in the span of one traffic jam.

Well, i would take some of these environmentalists more serious if they wouldnt abandon soap as one of the first steps to being more green.
Some of them smell worse than a gaming club after a tourney.

I cant stand that guy. Hes threatening my supply of Kilts and access to one of the best non gaming miniatures shops.

But you first need a brain surgery to remove all unnecessary stuff like your own thoughts.

    Meanwhile, on Varuna....

(I bet PanOceania has dozens of models of civilian drones and remotes capable of either fishing for you, or hovering around to let you fish)

Teach a man to fish, he will eat for a day.
Teach a man how to build a drone to fish, and he'll still go fishing.

In Spain there has been an uproar this weekend, surpassing by far the Listeriosis epidemy. Three female (we assume, sorry for assuming -.- ) activists have "rescued" several chickens and keep those under protection.

The vegans claim the chickens do not want to be violated by the cocks. This has generated a huuuuuge meme circus for the whole weekend.

There are videos of said activists "giving back" the eggs to the chickens by breaking those eggs on the ground... while the chickens eat said eggs...

Their web is located on https://almasveganas.org/

Me, personally... I think that, if they extrapolate this to its complete consequences, then the animal mass extintion is coming... after all, the females need the males to spawn the next generation...

Hey, Varuna isn't so far after all! I always thought it was another planet and it happens to be a few kilometers away from my home! ^^

Just heard a crazy one on the radio.
One of the discussion points today is kids being fussy eaters. Part of the story is that a teenager went blind due to a lifelong diet of chips, crisps, ham, white bread and nothing else.
Seems the blindness was due to severe vitamin deficiency.
Real cuplrit here is the parents allowing this to happen.

Thing is, this is disappointing, but not surprising. I'm sure I must have told the story a while back of the kid and mother I spotted in the supermarket - kid holds up a pepper asking, "What's that?!" and the mother replies, "I dunno... I think it's a peppur."
Unfortunately, most people around here only seem to encounter 2 vegetables in their lives:
    Potatoes, which become chips.
Onions, the things you scrape off your burger before you eat it.

And the list of reasons to exterminate humanity grows.

On a thread-related note, you reminded me of some program on the radio, about raising kids. Specifically, they were talking about taking kids to a camping/outdoors vacation.
So I hear, kids don't know fire. I think sure, they can't be expected to know how to handle themselves around a bonfire and it's good to teach them how not to burn themselves and keep an eye on them, the usual.
Except it turned out that many kids (and they talked about ~6 year olds) LITERALLY DO NOT KNOW WHAT FIRE IS. You know, flame? Something burning? They only see that in movies, if at all.
It's plausible if you think about how things changed - electric stoves/microwaves, decline of cigarettes, less outdoorsy lifestyles, all that stuff lessens the chance of getting to see fire in action. But it's still such a fundamental difference that it goes beyond feeling old, I feel... alien.

Yeah, just order it without onions in the first place.

And kids not knowing what fire is? This is what happens when you stigmatise pyromania and claim arson is a crime.

That's insane, they probably only know "fire" in the context of music being good
