The online campaign this year hosted by On TableTop (formerly Beasts of War), will be situated in the Human Edge, on an Asteroid in the Homeric Belt. For those new to Infinity the Game, or new to the online campaigns, these are a global, real time campaign spanning over a month period. Players create accounts on the Warconsole website when it goes live, and will be able to record their games at a given location to gain points. Further players can accumulate experience points to rank up. These experience points are gained from achievements. First Win, First Loss, First Draw, X number of comments on the forums, X number of commendations given to a battle report etc. The battle report system can be a bit confusing at first as well, and I will be sure to post a simple tutorial for folks when the website goes live.

The Haqqislam base is a space port in the side of the rock called Pakngein Nbis
    [IMG]

Haqqislam in the past had always been a voice for diplomacy to the other factions, and an attacking force when called upon. In Flamestrike, we worked closely with the Nomad Nation to capture and secure the Yu Jing Power Plant. In the Wotan campaign, we initiated Operation Noodle Run when we were called on to secure the Yu Jing territory during their decline in military personal, and secure the Beijing Orbital Station for them. Finally in Kurage Crisis, we stepped in to force back an Aleph assault on the Kommstadt Array defended by the Nomad Nation who had issues pulling in enough personnel quickly to defend both of their locations. Once the Nomad Nation had sufficient force, we relinquished control back safely. In all Operations, the Sword of Allah succeeded decidedly in their goals and objectives. Finally, no one has come close to taking Haqqislam Territory over. We had a hard fight at the beginning of Kurage but luckily it did not continue.

The relations with the other nations at the end of Kurage Crisis are as follows from the viewpoint of Haqqislam High Command:
Nomad Nation - Remaining strong. It has been strained at some points, but both factions have come together on numerous occasions.
Ariadna - Following the Wotan incidents, and Kurage, relations with Ariadna are seemingly in tatters. Haqqislam distrusts Ariadnas motives and their actions and remain concerned for the future.
Panoceania - Growing stronger. Panoceanian command proved to be trustworthy and loyal comrades in Wotan and Kurage, and in Wotan proved they could remain on course to protect Humanity even when attacked by other forces.
Yu Jing - Was a neutral stance, but with their growing partnership with Ariadna, during the Kurage Crisis, Haqqislam High Command is keeping a closer eye on their movements.
ALEPH - Decidedly neutral. There have been occasions of strong partnerships and enmity equally. While Haqqislam will step in to defend the Nomad Nation from Aleph attacks, Haqqislam has no desire, nor wish to attack the AI.
Tohaa - Remaining strong. Tohaa command has proven to be strong, and reliable allies that can be called upon, or to assist.
Combined Army - Enemies of humanity. Be on the lookout for Shasvastii infiltrators in your neighborhood.
O-12 - Unknown relation at this time.
NA2 - Determined on a per company basis.
Japanese Secessionist Army - Neutral. Overtures of diplomacy were left unattended.

This year, High Command will be taking a different stance at the beginning. While Haqqislam would prefer diplomacy, we will be more aggressive. Our targets remain in debate at this time, and when the forums open we will be reaching out to all commanders on their opinions and requests until a new High Command is elected and installed. The new High Command has every right to overturn this original stance for another of their choosing.

Haqqislam High Command is made up of four individuals. Three Commanders, and an Adviser. The Adviser is there to step in if one of the High Commanders is unavailable for a vote, and to provide an additional insight into a conversation. All positions are nominated and voted for by you all, the Swords of Allah. When the forums open, one of the first topics that will be provided, will be a nomination thread. This thread will be open for 72 hours. During that time you are free to nominate anyone including yourself as a High Commander. There are NO REQUIREMENTS. If you feel you could make a good High Commander, then nominate yourself. After 72 hours, a new topic will be made to vote on that nomination list. This voting will take place over 48 hours, and each individual will have one vote to cast. Again you may vote for yourself or others. The individuals with the most votes will be the 4 assigned to High Command.

This campaign is for fun and is a narrative event. While the system has its issues, namely the conquest style, it is what we have, and the enjoyment of the campaign is directly derived by you. If you are looking for a bad time, you will have a bad time, if you're looking for a fun time, you will have it. The people who gain the most enjoyment from these events drive their own narrative within the bounds of the campaigns structure and story. I do not want to get into the debate of "is this a good campaign or is it not". It simply is a campaign, and I want as many people here to enjoy themselves as I can. It is a month of fun narrative writing and battle fighting. Please be sure to stay honest, fight fair, and report fairly. You can have an engaging and interesting narrative, even in defeat. Haqqislam is known for their cooperative and fair community, and these are the standards we will hold all Haqqislam commanders to. Support each other, and provide for each other. Defend Humanity!

    Inshallah!

Men new him as hafza officer. They called him simply "Lieutenant". Other husam operatives knew his call sign — "Romiras". Real name and a biography were known only to Haqqislam High Command.

With almost inaudible but ever present engine hum of Qapu Khalqi fast ship all around him, husam operative was cleaning his weapon, though the rifle was already in perfect combat condition. Lieutenant, as always, used this process as a form of meditation, while thinking about the upcoming operation.

He was deployed during Kurage Crisis and was proud of his actions during that campaign. His planned departure to Paradiso after that was delayed due to events on caravanserai “Oasis-16”. Lieutenant clenched his teeth. Too many civilians died there. Failure. Shame. He craved the deployment on Paradiso after that. Craved to join his brothers and sisters from Qapu Khalqi in battle. Craved the atonement.

He learned soon enough that High Command had other plans. Another blasted piece of rock in space. Initially Lieutenant was devastated by the news. But then he learned that his old instructor Mahraj (Joker) was also being sent there. That meant “SERIOUS BUSINESS” in capital letters. There will be war.

Husam operative Romiras was going to get his battles to silence his demons.

    He was ready.

They were wretched brigands, mercenary corsairs and violent opportunists, every colour on the spectrum of avaricious bastards you could think: from the veteran and professional Bayram Druze and Kaplan contractors who camp in regimented barracks to Yuan Yuan pirates who sleep where they fall drunk the night before. There is one thing the armsmen of the Qalb 'aswad have in common; they are damn effective in a boarding action.
Where most Qapu Khalqi corsair vessels are assigned to the defense of Bourak's mercantile fleet the Qalb 'aswad has a decidedly more "acquisitional" role. Their commission to assault foreign commercial ships and secure intelligence and military assets for the sultanate that otherwise may be used against the Haqqislam State.
Moqaddim "Blackheart" Aswad was a privateer and a villain in the eyes of many but to him it's just business, and he couldn't help but think, as the Asteroid of Novyy Bangkok resolved itself in the view from his commanding position on the bridge, "business is booming"

The green-grey painted Snauw-class Vessel opened a secure channel as it approached the slowly spinning rock of Novvy Bangkok in the middle of nowhere. "This is najmat hamra'an. Request Blua Serpenton." That tall figure at the comms station listened some moments to the static hiss before cutting the channel and turning around to face the captain waiting behind him. "They await us. Just get us down and commence with your usual business. My team and I thank you for your help, Captain." With a deep bow, Junus turned around and left the bridge, heading for the cargo hold his team had occupied during the transit. Everything was ready - the enemies to the Search of Knowledge will soon find that there is a new threat to their plans on Novvy Bangkok.

The Kurage Crisis had been bad. Omar had commanded garrison units flung into full-blown warfare against veteran strike teams from across the human sphere. Casualties were heavy, losses were constant. And yet...

They held. They were bloodied and bruised but they held. And that was enough, Nasirdin Datka had kept to his promises. Soldiers with their careers crippled by politics or indiscretion gained a second chance, officers found themselves being promoted again, and soon enough they found themselves off of Dawn.

It had been a solid term of service since then, but this new position, Novyy Bangkok, well...

    He wasn't a fan.

They were too well armed for 'peacekeeping patrols'. You didn't need a corsair warship for that, you didn't need a Ramah Taskforce detachment for that. You didn't need the mercenaries for that.

And you definitely didn't need the damned consultant.

    *
VV had a nose for military crises. They'd served with a lot of outfits in some way or another, done a lot of political analysis, intelligence analysis, military analysis for half a dozen mercenary corporations. And everything they'd learned told them that Bangkok was gonna blow.

Maybe it was the increased, militarized investment. Maybe it was the declarations from the Hachib. Maybe it was just their own vested economic interest in new content for War Talk, but something was in the midst of happening here. It'd been hard to get someone to take it seriously, and they were pretty surprised when the Hachib ended up approaching him. Some spy passed one of their presentations to someone in the Haqq chain of command, and now they had the position they wanted with the people they really, really didn't.

But now that they were en-route, the imminent crises didn't even have his attention. He was trying to figure out what the hell was up with the journo.

    *
Ahmed Miles was not a conspiracy theorist. He had to insist on that.

The Walder case was huge. Maybe not on the level of the Human Sphere, but thousands of earth-bound Americans had been caught up in the scandal. Corporate malfeasance, abandoned environmental scrubbing, a horrorshow of neglect ignored for years because it happened to a third-world has been on the homeworld rather than anywhere important or rich. And he'd broken it, got Walder himself in front of a Concillium court.

And then the moron of a prosecutor fumbled the case and Walder walked free.

But that wasn't a conspiracy. That was the system failing its most vulnerable and that happened on a daily basis. No, the conspiracy was what happened on Walder's way to the spaceport. The comprehensive ambush that had isolated his O-12 guard, resulted in half a dozen casualties, and Walder's disappearance. Other reporters said it was an attack by American terrorists. By mercenaries hired to avenge a fallen nation. Maybe even Walder's own business associates, keen on disposing of their man now that he was bad press.

But he'd gotten some of the damaged footage. He'd seen the professional, anonymous killers that had ripped through an O-12 guard detail like it was nothing. He'd seen their uniforms and... business suits, black as night, silhouetted against their cover before the static of their jammers kicked in. The savagery of their precision and calm, snap reactions as their picked apart their targets sent a frigid chill down his spine. He knew, knew, that there was something larger at work here.

Because his research had found that it wasn't an isolated incident. That there were more of these attacks, and a pattern to them.

And he had traced that pattern to Novyy Bangkok.

The Haqqislam light cruiser adh-Dhiʼb floated in space next to a massive asteroid. The vessel was one of so many others, littering the space around the object, and not the only one bearing a military iff marking. Looking at a screen at the helmsman's station, it picked out several nationalities and dozens of trade ships, ice haulers, and mining vessels. Captain Aafah sighed.

“Sister, is this beautiful rock on the edge of Humanity not to your liking?”

The voice came from a tall, lanky man with a long trimmed beard in the traditional style from earth a couple of hundred years ago. A crisp white turban, with Captains pin, stood in stark contrast to his deep blue uniform petti-coat. He looked like he had jumped from the screen of a historical holovid. His playful smirk only partially hidden by his beard, her brother was a mischievous one, and how he came to captain a vessel in the Qapu Khalqi, she never could figure out. He had several distinctions though in fighting piracy out on the Human Edge, and luckily she thought, his orders kept him away from Paradiso.

“I simply do not understand why High Command sent us all the way out here. This is a rock that's home to Ikari Company. I am sure those low lifes can handle whatever issues come up here.” Aafah said, crossing her arms, and leaning back against one of the consoles of the bridge. “And don’t call me sister, I am a Ra’id in the army, and your ‘aqid Fayaz. We are not children anymore.”

Her brother chuckled and walked over to the navigators station, checking their screen. “Maybe there's more to it.” He said, ignoring her previous statement. “The intelligence briefing I got was the same you got. High Command has knowledge that this is a growing hotspot, and with the Hachibs new directions of hostile intervention of known operations, they probably wanted to send out a quick reaction unit.”

Looking over to her, he continues, “That means Ramah and your new unit. It is probably a low intensity and easy way to break in your new command as well.”

Shaking her head, Aafah straightens and heads for the door out of the bridge, “You are probably right. I still don’t like it. It has only been a year since Ghezira, and that...well what is left of the unit is still recovering. I hope for their sake, this is an easy, short assignment.”

Leaving the bridge, Aafah calls up her geist, “Send my brother a message to call father, its been weeks since they last talked, and he is terrible at staying in touch.”

Walking briskly through the narrow halls around technicians, and engineers, she arrives at the shuttle bay. In a small, light cruiser, the bay was tiny, barely large enough to hold the two troop shuttles they were assigned, and her unit stood crammed into the confined area. Fahim was leading a few of his new Khawarij brothers in a short morning prayer, their prayer rugs angled towards a corner of the bay. In ancient times, they would pray using a simple Qibla, a compass that points towards Mecca, while on Earth. Now, on the edge of human space, it was a bit more difficult. Checking her Qibla app in the corner of her vision, she saw that Earth stood directly beneath them.

Zyah came up to her, and gave a short, informal salute before reviewing a tablet, “Ra’id Aafah, I just did a quick check on the units health, and everyone appears to be in good shape. The Mukhtar Rashika, Kalim, and Badr, are complaining about nausea though, but from their profile it appears that their program may suffer more acute space sickness than others. I am keeping an eye-”

    Clang! Clang! Clang!

“-and that would be the huntresses…” the doctor finished with an annoyed sigh.

From the large motor pool door, two massive forms emerged. A monsterous combination of ancient tank, and scorpion, the Akreps walked towards the shuttles. Folding down onto their tracks, they rolled into their designated compartments, before the engineers following them began applying mag locks and harnesses.

“I don't know why we need those…” Zyah said, voicing Aafahs opinion as well.

Patting the doctor on the shoulder, Maih Aafah hopped up onto a box, and gave a short whistle as the Khawarij finished their prayers, and the pilots emerged from the shuttles.

“Alright, listen up! A lot has happened over this last year. Ghezira was not easy, and we lost a lot. We barely made it out of that evacuation, only to be rolled into retraining and joining of the Ramah Special Task Forces. We have new members, and Fahim took to drugs.” With the last part, a chuckle ran through the veteran members, as Aafah gave a wink to the large Khawarij man, formerly their Ghulam Units heavy machine gunner. Even a super soldier can blush.

“This is Novvy Bangkok. A nothing asteroid on the Human Edge. High Command believes it could be a hot spot soon, so we are here. Until that happens though, I want you all to take it easy. Some of you still have not had enough time to fully recover from injuries. Consider yourselves on leave until you are called into action. That is all. Grab your kit, and let’s load up!”

Jumping down, the unit began filtering off to grab loose items and gear, and head for their assigned shuttle. Looking out of the open bay doors, through the atmospheric shield, the big, blue rock floated silently, and unassuming. She hoped that conflict stayed away long enough to be reassigned to Bourak.

Peace in War, sisters and brothers.

I'm curious how we feel about the Concilium taking such a central stage of late? Where they largely stayed out of our way in the past the most recent crack downs and propaganda wars clearly have been targeting our troops for sanctions. We stave off such assaults behind closed door, for, as always, the Silk must flow, but more and more news reports have been surfacing regarding our mainstay weapon...

    The Rifle + Light Shotgun

Favor in the Human Sphere turns against us and ground is given to our enemies, as more and more troops take to the battlefield taking horrific vids of our troops cutting villains in half with shotguns, or the aftermath of viral weaponry and poisonous rounds. Surely we can't begin to target journalists, once our allies in our stance against infighting and black ops, but how do we go about maintaining our image in order to do humanity's work? Do we turn the Heel, even if for a public face?

What are people's ideas on tactics when faced with the fact that our most basic profiles have banned weapons? (For more info on what I am talking about please see Season 11 ITS mission pack and the Concilium Watch rule - which I am guessing will play a role in Asteroid Blues as well).

Hello! You seem to be confused. As it has been transmitted on several other threads of news, a Rifle + Light Shotgun is not, in fact, a violation of the Concilium treaties. Please remember that the list of banned weaponry has been adjusted to a manageable size, and covers a broad stroke of single, non-coombined weapons.

As such, the brave defenders of Humanity's bright future can focus on the real threat, instead of bickering between themselves! Is it not great?

The askari AS sayad is a long lived, and reliable primary weapon of the Swords of Allah, and we have made sure to get Concilium agreement on its battlefield role.

Just tuning in here to say, that I look forward to do battle for Haqqislam again this year. I really missed it during the last campaign. This time I´ll try to keep one pure Haqq narrative through a single protagonist. I am curious to see how many games it takes for her to die...

Nasir paid a grim look to his orders.
No more restraint. Now, peace had been forsaken in favor of a more direct action.
The time for diplomacy and defense is over. It is time to fight.
His men, rallied from the Qapu Khalqi, are ready. He is ready. It is only Allah who knows what will come after this new infight.
If Allah wills, he will live to see another day.
For now, he awaits the coming storm.

Ooc: I'm glad to be joining the faithful and the Sword of Allah. I look forward to a great campaign and a great victory for pur cause.
    Inshallah, my brothers!

It looks like in the profile of Fat Yuan Yuan there is a misspelling – I cannot find a rule Heavy-duty in the Asteroid Blues PDF, but he had Heavyweight in the Adventures of Fat Yuan Yuan. And bring him back his stun grenades! %)
