Hi everybody, im wondering about oss units you use to storm/hold objective room in missions like armory or engineering deck. What are Your favourites?

Devabots and Arjunas (extra useful the BSG one) for templates from cheap bots (carefull they won't lock the door, or be used as "free target" for shotguns once Unconscious on the door), Rudras and Yadus for the dropbear/mine dispenser deployment.

    So: templates galore!

I agree about clearing, but for holding room, all above except Yadus are quite fragile and low point cost for scoring. How about Asura hacker lt2?

Posthumans (Mk2-3) can hold the objective room (the HRL carries a SMG too, both carry nanopulser), the Asura Hacker + has a surface threat larger than a Yadu (because HI and Hacker), then there are the camo markers.

To take & hold an objective room, we must first check if the doors start open or closed (I think they now all start open... meh...). This is important due to fire lanes.

First, you need to deploy your troops so they can cover parts. Making sure the enemy cannot approach any door without suffering some contesting is critical. Dakinis are great for this: Mimetic troops that can go Suppresive Fire, for 13pts, they can be deployed outside of the objective room, so they can fire their SF through doors or to enemy troops approaching said doors. You know the distance from door to door, so you might need to place a Dakini in the door of your side (outside of the room), that way a hacker would need to face the other units covering the sides of the objective room to reach the daikini.

As for the best units to hold inside the room, well, I'd say only Yadus qualify: "2 wounds", Veteran N1 and a good selection of weapons to hold the room.

I agree about Yadu, it performed well in Armory last time I played it. Dart did as well. Csu with BSG in Dakini link cleaned the room, but died in the process. Mk5 FO in suppressive hold enemy for a while but also perished.

Not ideal honestly. They are easily approached by any KHD from out of site and even with Maestro and WIP 15, that is not a reliable ARO.

Asura is great for a last turn room grab due to cybermask.

I tend to find that Nagas and/or Dasyus are important for holding objective rooms. Obviously, if you're not careful, they can be susceptible to enemy direct templates, but the ability to use mines to help protect objective rooms is significant. Dasyus are particularly effective because they can tank a chainrifle (which they will 40% of the time) and even if the armor roll fails, they can stay in the room as long as the mine(s) take out any unwanted assailants.

And they have a rather high PH so they can dodge the nastiest things like flame or shock templates.

Dasyu is nice idea, but i have Dart, and she has bioimunity so enemy mines wont kill her outright. I can change her to mine loadout. And unfortunately Dasyu killer hacker dont have mines, but naga does.

But do you want a KHD for that task ? I feel like being hackable is a liability more than an advantage for defending the objective room. It's better to field an unhackable troop and a repeater (a simple lamedh is enough, and it being hackable won't help the opponent that much - just don't be too close to the other troops if you fear spotlight + guided)

Yeah not many door-kickers in OSS, yadu probably best due to resilience and non-hackable status.
I'd be tempted to go vanilla thanks to myrmidon's ability to smoke and shank their way through the room

I will throw my 5-13pts warband to clear the room then...

I agree here, since the area can make you getting nuked with no response available.

Eudoros or Hyppolita would work best here, but they are a valid target for a Jammer (and vulnerable to shock)... Yadus are not.

Frankly? I'd say Yadus are the best troop to hold an objective because of the sheer amount of stuff they ignore.

Yeah they're one of the better options. Myrmidons (and their officers) are good problem solvers due to smoke and CC. Vanilla lets you take both :-)

Vanilla is not an option :). I agree on Naga/Dasyu hackers but i need a hacker to field remotes. Dasyu Fo is nice but i dont know what to swap for it.

Apsaras are AVA 2, and one profile is a 19pts KHD...

Which is why NWI is good and support and mines are important to bring.

The idea is to throw the chain rifle unit and force detonate all mines, survival of the warband is irrelevant... so it's the neutralization of the target (if you manage to smoke the room or something).

If I were using PanO, moving an Auxbot to block LoF of a door while the Auxilia gets LoF to the target, and both shoot at it (same with deva + devabot) would be my choice, for example.

With Morlocks (any warband with smoke and a melee capability that either uses E/M, Shock or DA), smoking the doors to get in and hit the camper.

With a Bashi Bazouk I would send a Holoecho in, and shoot the target with the SMG in Shock option (AP if Yadus).

So yeah, placing supporting units outside of the room is important.
